Jenny Marrs Stands Up to Online Critic Trying to ‘Stir Up Drama’

Jenny Marrs didn’t hold back when an online commenter tried to “stir up drama” in the comments of one of her Instagram posts. See how the HGTV star defended her family while they enjoy a well-deserved vacation.

Jenny Marrs Shares Response to Commenter Who ‘Tried to Twist’ Family Moment

On January 8, Marrs took to Instagram to share video clips of her family enjoying a fun snow activity on vacation.

She noted that the sledding was joyful and she can be heard laughing as each person made a run down the hill. At the end, Marrs is seen giving the activity a go too.

“No one was injured in the making of these memories. 😆 (I can’t stop watching these videos and laughing! What joy!),” she wrote in the caption.

The HGTV star later took to her Instagram Stories to show a screenshot of a comment she received on the post — and her response.

The commenter wrote, “I have not seen Sylvia,” spelling Marrs’ daughter’s name wrong.

Marrs responded, “She went several times and was on the video multiple times. And, most importantly, you don’t even know my daughter’s name (Sylvie not Sylvia) so stop trying to cause problems when you don’t have any idea what your’e talking about.”

She continued, “This is what’s wrong with social media. I was sharing a light-hearted fun family adventure and you tried to twist it. Not okay. 2026 is the year I stop trying to placate this nonsense.”

Marrs Takes a Stand About Online Trolls

The “Fixer to Fabulous” star also included a brief note at the bottom of the screenshot to explain that she’s “done” with online trolls.

“I’ve been dealing with this stuff for years,” she noted. “Normally, I block and delete. But I’m done.”

Marrs continued, “Suddenly, I don’t care. I refuse to let these people who are just trying to cause some sort of bizarre trouble to get to me. It has always made me angry. (1. You spelled my daughter’s name wrong. 2. She is sledding and you just ignored the videos of her and tried to cause trouble because she looks differently than us.)”

She added, “Transracial adoptive families may look different and we may be dealing with levels of trauma that you have absolutely no insight into or right to BUT you cannot come into my space here online and try to stir up drama. No ma’am. No sir. Not happening.”

  1. I can only imagine the feelings of anger and disgust that you have at some comments online. I am the grammy of a biracial grandson. When I see some comments on line I am saddened and mad that racial relations have not progressed, that equal rights should have to be fought for in 2026.

  2. Watch HGTV all the time, but Jenny and Dave you are 2 of our favorites (my and my wife’s) because of your raw emotions, honesty, being so down to earth, and your beliefs in general. You are good, hard-working, sweet and kind people who open their hearts and home to others and share your joy with all of us. You love what you do and it shows.

As I have grown older, I have become much more able to embrace the belief that “what others think of you is none of your business.” I know many people try and make their opinions of you their business, but don’t let them! — at least not the negative ones. Keep spreading your love and light and ignore those who try and get under your skin.

My wife and I love both of your work (Dave is so versatile) and your mission. Just keep on doing you and let the rest fall where it may.

Blessings to you and your beautiful family.
