Brian Austin Green has a simple request for “Totally ‘90s House” season 2 — don’t change a thing. The HGTV star shared his perspective on casting the nostalgic competition series, noting that he’d love nothing more than to keep the same players in the mix.
Brian Austin Green Shares Hopes for ‘Totally ’90s House’ Season 2
During an August 2026 interview with Us, Green shared his dream for season 2 of “Totally ’90s House.”
“I wouldn’t nominate anyone else,” he said, alongside his teammates Beverley Mitchell and Jodie Sweetin. “I think the three of us should come back and do season 2.”
Green, of “Beverly Hills, 90210” fame, loves his “Totally ’90s House” partnership with “7th Heaven” star Mitchell and “Full House” alum Sweetin. The trio face off against Melissa Joan Hart (“Sabrina the Teenage Witch”), Matthew Lawrence (“Boy Meets World”), and Keshia Knight Pulliam (“The Cosby Show”). The teams compete, renovating houses stuck in the 1990s to a more modern look.
Mitchell had a little more flexibility with casting season 2, while still wanting to maintain their trio.
“There’s so many people that would be fun to join,” she said. “But I would never break up our team. So it would have to be our team and then we would have a challenge [with someone new].”
Sweetin pitched teams built around themes.
“We could do ‘Step by Step’. We could do TGIF shows. We could do all Aaron Spelling shows,” she shared. “I’m just tossing out ideas.”
Green jokingly shot down the suggestions, standing firm with his dream team. “They’re horrible ideas. No one is as good as us. I want to keep this team intact, and I want to continue doing this show,” he said.
Mitchell shared, “I think what’s the greatest thing about our team is that we complement each other very well. We work very well together. And we are not nearly as strong if it’s not the three of us. It takes all three of us to make us such an exceptional team.”
She added, “I think that that is the key component — and we’re very well aware of that. I can’t do this by myself, so I need them.”
‘Totally ’90s House’ Is Packed With Nostalgia
“Totally ’90s House” is a six-episode renovation competition show hosted by “Family Matters” star Jaleel White. It follows “two celeb teams as they scour the country for houses stuck in the 1990s — think honey oak cabinets, sponge-painted walls and mirrored closets — with each team ultimately picking their perfect throwback in need of a major overhaul,” the HGTV press release notes.
The teams “will face a massive challenge — modernize the dated spaces while preserving their nostalgic charm in hopes of creating the ideal ’90s-inspired dream home — to win bragging rights and $25,000 for their chosen charity.”
Carter Oosterhouse (“Carter Can”) and Sabrina Soto (“The High Low Project”) serve as mentors. Guest judges include singer Drew Lachey of 98 Degrees, “Trading Spaces” host Paige Davis, designer Jonathan Adler, and HGTV stars Mina Starsiak Hawk, Vern Yip, and Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt.
