Fans surely know Shay Mitchell from her role as Emily Fields in “Pretty Little Liars.” Now, she’s taking on a new gig that sees her donning one of the most famous swimsuits in television history. That’s right, she’s slipping on the iconic red swimsuit while portraying a lifeguard in the upcoming “Baywatch” reboot.
The star has even given fans a glimpse of herself in the item, among photos that resulted in plenty of reactions, including one from Khloé Kardashian.
Mitchell Slays in New Photos, According to Khloe & Other Stars
Taking to Instagram, Mitchell shared a collection of photos for her friends, fans and followers to enjoy.
In some, she can be seen wearing a yellow bikini bottom with a T-shirt that features an image of a torso wearing a matching top. There’s also a photo of her snack-packed purse, the inside of a ring that reads “built different” and an image of her alarm clock settings that show she gets up before five a.m.
There’s also a shot of the star sipping on what appears to be an iced coffee and another that sees her hanging out with friends as well as a video featuring multiple flower bouquets.
Beyond that, there are both photos and a video that appear to have been taken while she was filming “Baywatch.” While sitting on a boat, standing on the watercraft and riding on a jet ski, she can be seen wearing her red lifeguard swimsuit.
The post prompted plenty of comments, including one from Kardashian, who wrote, “The HOTTEST.”
“WAGS” alum Olivia Pierson wrote, “BAE-watch!!!! 😍😍😍🔥”
Mitchell’s “Baywatch” co-star Brooks Nader left an emoji-based comment, popping in, “😍😍”
“SMOKE SHOW 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥,” added Hassie Harrison, former “Yellowstone” actress and another star of the upcoming reboot.
Even the “Baywatch” Instagram account added a message, with “🔥❤️🥰.”
Shay Plays a Lawyer-Turned-Lifeguard
“Shay Mitchell is heading to the beach,” The Hollywood Reporter (THR) told the new show’s potential fans on March 11. “Fox announced Wednesday that Mitchell has been cast in the Baywatch reboot as a series regular. She joins the show as Trina, a former lawyer who left a top-tier firm to become a full-time lifeguard.”
THR notes that the show will also star “Stephen Amell as series lead Hobie Buchannon, Jessica Belkin as Charlie Vale, Hassie Harrison as Nat, Thaddeus LaGrone as Brad, Brooks Nader as Selene and Noah Beck as Luke.” That’s not to mention the fact that “David Chokachi will reprise his role as Cody Madison from the original series.”
The “Baywatch” reboot will feature 12 episodes and is set to premiere on Fox during the 2026–27 season.
