Along with being a famous musician thanks to his work in bands like Blink-182, Transplants, Box Car Racer and The Aquabats, Travis Barker also appears onscreen with one of the most notable families in the world of reality TV while popping up on “The Kardashians” with his wife, Kourtney Kardashian, as well as her mother, children and celebrity siblings.
Now, the award-winning drummer has revealed a couple of facts about the show that you might find surprising.
Travis Has a Surprising Relationship with ‘The Kardashians’
Fans were first able to see Barker on a reality TV show when he starred on MTV’s “Meet the Barkers” with his then-wife Shanna Moakler from 2005 to 2006. Now that he’s married to Kardashian, he can regularly be seen on her famous family’s series.
Despite those years of reality TV experience, it turns out that Barker has a relationship with “The Kardashians” that might surprise you.
During a Popcast interview with The New York Times critic Jon Caramanica and The Times culture reporter Joe Coscarelli that was released on Thursday, August 6, Barker was asked about his experience when it comes to sharing his personal life on the reality TV show.
Although cameras follow Barker around when the series is filming him and his family during their daily lives, he admitted, “I kind of don’t even realize I’m on the show.”
He also revealed, “I don’t watch the show… I think the best way for me to deal with stuff like that or to be a part of things like that is to not really acknowledge that I’m being filmed or anything different’s happening.”
On top of that, Barker explained that he doesn’t attempt to influence what’s seen on the show, saying, “I never even approve episodes…”
He also addressed his role on the show, saying that he doesn’t feel like he’s a “main character,” adding, “I’m an accessory.”
Barker Did Watch One Memorable Moment on the Reality TV Show

Cameras were present to capture every romantic moment when Barker tied the knot with Kardashian during an unforgettably lavish and stylish wedding in Portofino, Italy, on May 22, 2022. Of course, fans will be well aware of the fact that this came after the pair said “I do” in a non-legal Las Vegas ceremony led by an Elvis Presley impersonator after the Grammy Awards that took place on April 4, 2022. They then legally got married at a courthouse in Santa Barbara, California, on May 15, 2022.
When Barker was asked about the fact that the memorable Italian event was shown on the reality TV series, he noted that it was one part of the show that he was sure to watch with his significant other, saying, “She put a bunch of footage together for our wedding, which was really cool.”
