Musician, songwriter, and music producer Travis Barker has revealed the one rule that keeps his marriage to reality star, socialite, and businesswoman Kourtney Kardashian going strong.
Having started dating the star in 2021 (per People), Barker, 50 — known best as being the drummer for the rock band Blink-182 — married Kardashian in Santa Barbara, California, in May of 2022. The couple had a more extravagant ceremony in Italy later that same month. Together, they share a blended family of nine.
Barker recently spoke to People about the rule that keeps their relationship on the straight and narrow.
Travis Barker & Kourtney Kardashian ‘Try Not to Ever Fall Asleep Mad With Each Other’
Travis Barker revealed to People that the one rule that keeps his marriage to Kourtney Kardashian going strong is not going to bed angry with each other.
“We try not to ever fall asleep mad at each other,” said Barker.
The 50-year-old went on, “[We] try to resolve, even if it’s just like, ‘Hey, I thought you were going to meet me for lunch, and you didn’t text me back right away, so I didn’t know if we were meeting for lunch.'”
Barker continued, saying, “Even if it’s just as simple as, like, ‘Oh babe, I take accountability. I’m sorry. I didn’t see your text right away.’ Just resolving anything so you don’t go to bed not feeling connected is really important.”
The drummer also notes the significance of having a little space from each other when you need it.
It’s great advice. Other married couples could certainly do worse than take heed of it.
