Travis Barker Injured While in Training

Travis Barker, who is married to Kourtney Kardashian, has paused training for the Los Angeles Marathon after injuring his tibia, the Blink-182 drummer said in a social media post this week. Barker shared the update on X, formerly Twitter, saying the injury occurred while he was preparing for the race.

“Training for the LA marathon, and I injured my Tibia. Upside crutches are a great workout,” Barker wrote in the post on December 28, acknowledging the setback with humor.

The injury marks a temporary halt in Barker’s preparation for what would be his first full marathon. The Los Angeles Marathon is scheduled for March 2026.

Injury Interrupts Training Plans

According to E! News, Barker sustained the tibia injury during marathon training and has been using crutches as he recovers. The outlet reported that Barker had been steadily building toward the race, which represented a major personal fitness goal for the musician.

Running has played a significant role in Barker’s life since he survived a plane crash in 2008 that killed four people and left him with severe injuries. Doctors questioned whether he would be able to walk or play drums again, but Barker eventually returned to performing and incorporated running into his recovery.

Over the years, Barker has spoken publicly about how physical activity helped him regain strength and focus following the accident. His marathon training marked the next step in that long-term commitment to fitness.

A Public Commitment to Running

Barker has increasingly shared his running journey with fans. He founded Run Travis Run, a fitness community that hosts organized 5K events across the country. In November, Barker participated in a timed 5K in Santa Monica and later performed live, according to a report by TMZ.

The drummer has also taken part in half marathons and group runs in cities including Chicago, Las Vegas, and Palm Desert. Through social media, Barker often documents his workouts and encourages others to stay active, drawing praise from fans who view his efforts as inspirational.

While Barker did not provide details about the severity of the injury or a timeline for returning to training, his post suggested he remains in good spirits despite the interruption.

For now, Barker’s marathon ambitions remain on hold. Still, his history suggests that setbacks have rarely stopped him for long. Whether onstage or on the pavement, Barker has built a career on persistence, and his latest challenge appears to be no exception.

  1. I can’t get over the fact this lunatic covered his head and neck in tattoos. I played drums back in the day for a popular band and had long hair and a beard but never thought to do something that stupid to myself?

  2. He might have done that to cover the burns from the airplane crash. And if not it’s really none of your damn business. He likes tattoos so what.
