The Two Were on Broadway Together

The pair starred opposite each other in the Broadway revival of “The Music Man,” which ran from 2021 to 2023. Although they were longtime friends, their relationship later became romantic.

Foster previously spoke warmly about Jackman during their time working together. In a June 2022 interview with Vogue, she praised his personality and work ethic while describing how their professional relationship had grown into a close friendship.

“He has an impeccable reputation of being the hardest working man, incredibly kind and generous — and all of that is true. He disarms everyone, and he doesn’t make anything about him,” Foster said.

She added, “And he’s now become one of my best friends, which was a surprise, because you usually go into these things thinking, ‘Well, I hope we get along.’ But we just spent Memorial Day with our families. It’s really fun to meet new friends after 40.”

Jackman’s relationship with Foster became public after he announced in September 2023 that he and his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, had separated following 27 years of marriage.
