Kevin Jonas’ Wife Reveals Health Battle After Misdiagnosis

Danielle Jonas is bravely sharing her health story. The “Married to Jonas” star and longtime wife of Kevin Jonas revealed she was diagnosed with Lyme disease after months of unexplained symptoms that left her searching for answers.

“They tried to tell me it was anxiety,” Danielle, 39, told Parents in an interview published October 9. “Finally, I had a biopsy that showed I actually had Lyme disease. I also had eczema on my scalp, which was likely from the inflammation caused by Lyme disease.”

The mom of two said her first warning sign came when she started losing her hair. “The hair loss was very traumatic,” she admitted. “I got to a point where I wanted to wear a wig.”

Coping With the Emotional Impact

The diagnosis wasn’t easy for Danielle, who’s been married to Kevin for 16 years. She admitted that her changing appearance took a toll on her confidence, especially during public outings with her husband.

“I had to go out and do things with Kevin,” she said. “I just wanted to feel like myself again.”

Today, Danielle says her symptoms are under control and she’s feeling stronger. The experience, she shared, has changed how she sees herself, teaching her to be gentler, more patient, and more grateful for her body’s resilience.

Teaching Her Daughters Strength Through Vulnerability

For Danielle, her health journey has also changed how she talks to her and Kevin’s daughters, Alena, 11, and Valentina, 8. “They saw everything I went through,” she said. “So the main thing I tell them when their eczema flares up is, ‘This is going to pass.’”

As a mom, she wants to help her daughters build confidence even when they face their own skin issues. “Besides eczema, [Alena] has always had other skin issues, so keeping things clean for her is important,” she told Parents.

Finding Balance & Healing Together

While continuing her recovery, Danielle said she’s learned how to balance her daughter’s love of skincare with the importance of self-care. “She gets mad because she wants to have fun with certain products,” Danielle shared. “I just tell her, ‘Do you want a flare-up, or do you want to get it under control?’ That helps her come back down.”

By staying honest and patient, Danielle has found a deeper sense of calm and gratitude. Her journey is a gentle reminder that true healing is not only physical but emotional, and that self-acceptance often grows through life’s hardest moments.

  1. Przeczytałem z ogromnym zainteresowaniem historię Danielle Jonas i jej walkę z boreliozą.
