A Never-Before-Seen Film of a Legendary Singer’s 1988 Tour Is Heading to The Big Screen

George Michael’s 1988 tour will soon be heading to movie theaters.

Deadline reports that George Michael Entertainment and Mercury Studios are releasing a never-before-seen film called “George Michael: The Faith Tour.” This will include footage from the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy, which was from Michael’s European leg of his Faith Tour in 1988.

“The movie is made up of footage assembled from a 14-camera shoot captured on 35mm over two nights, featuring the 24-year-old pop star at the height of his powers,” the outlet writes.

The movie will be followed by an 18-track album of unheard performances by the legendary musician, which will include numbers from his Wham! and solo catalogues.

Michael tragically passed away in 2016 at the age of 53 due to heart disease, leaving behind a lasting and inspiring legacy.

He rose to fame in the 1980s, beginning as a member of the duo “Wham!”, which has sold more than 30 million records. He then began a solo career, going on to sell more than 125 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling musicians of all time.

He won a Grammy Award for Album of the Year, and has also made four No. 1 singles, which includes “Faith,” “Father Figure,” “One More Try,” and “Monkey.” 

Michael released his final studio album in 2004, with his last live album coming out in 2014. Throughout his career, he worked with other incredible artists, including Elton John, Bryan Adams, Mariah Carey, Tina Turner, Paul McCartney, Pet Shop Boys, Cyndi Lauper, and Aretha Franklin.
