There were only two musical performances tonight at the 2026 Oscars. One of those performances was the Oscar-nominated song “Golden” from “KPop Demon Hunters.” The huge hit for Netflix is sung by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami. The group made history tonight as the first all-Asian Oscars musical act, and you can check out the performance below!
‘Golden’ Performance at Oscars 2026
It was history in the making, and did not disappoint. Who doesn’t love this song?
It’s so cool that the group got to take the stage at the Academy Awards. The production was over-the-top, and I loved every second of it. The flags, the lights in the audience, Teyana Taylor cheering for them in the audience. It was great to see.
UPDATE: The award for Best Original Song was handed out, and “Golden” won!
‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Wins Best Animated Feature
It was a huge night for the Netflix hit movie. Besides performing the hit song “Golden” tonight at the awards’ show, we also saw them take home an Oscar for Best Animated Feature at the 98th Academy Awards.
In addition, the song “Golden” is up for Best Original Song later in the night.
While accepting the award for Best Animated Feature, Maggie King, the film’s co-writer and co-director, said, “For those of you who look like me, I’m so sorry that it took so long to see us in a movie like this, but it is here. That means the next generations don’t have to go longing. This is for Korea and Koreans everywhere,” according to the Los Angeles Times.
During their acceptance speech, we could see EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, who provide the singing voices in the film, in tears in the audience.
“KPop Demon Hunters” premiered on Netflix in June 2025. It has become Netflix’s most-watched movie and has over 480 million views as of January.
Great Awards Season
This has been a very successful awards season for the movie. “Golden” became the first K-pop song to win a Grammy award. It won for sing written for visual media.
“Golden” also won a Golden Globe for original song, and the movie won for animated motion picture. In addition, the movie won a Producers Guild Award for outstanding animated theatrical motion picture.
“Golden” Performances
Tonight’s Oscar performance isn’t the first time the Huntr/x singing trio has performed the breakout hit, “Golden,” on TV. They made their first TV appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” in October.
Ami previously told the Los Angeles Times that performing at the Oscars or Grammys is “probably one of the highest accolades and achievements you can accomplish as an artist, songwriter, and producer. Those are all things we have on our bucket list.”
