Pop music sensation Lizzo is all about body positivity, especially during the hot summer months. There are still a few more weeks in the season, and the 38-year-old wants all her plus-sized fans to take full advantage.
In a new social media update, Lizzo models a cute purple bikini, encouraging women of all sizes to be comfortable and cool in the summer heat.
Lizzo Proudly Promotes Swimwear For Women With Larger Body Types
Lizzo wants all of her plus-sized fans to get outside and soak up the last few weeks of summer. And she’s more than happy to lead by example.
“Happy Fat Liberation Month 💕 calling all my ladies over 200 go outside n POP sumthin🙏🏾” the “Juice” singer shared in a new Instagram update. She attached a photo of herself enjoying the summer weather, rocking a cute purple bikini next to the pool.
“😂 Lizzo said confidence all month long! Love the energy. 🙌✨” one fan wrote in the comments.
“Curvalicious!!! Get it Lizzo! 🔥🔥🔥🔥” another added, approving of the self-empowerment.

In July, Lizzo posed for Sports Illustrated, showing off her curves in a black bikini paired with a cute matching cover-up for the bottoms. She was honored to be the cover model, telling the outlet she was excited to represent women with her body type.
“When I was younger, I saw it and never imagined somebody with my body type would be on the cover,” she told the outlet.
“It’s just incredible to see how we’ve redefined sexy, redefined confidence and redefined what a swimsuit body is since I was a kid,” the singer continued. “The whole runway show was so beautiful, with all different kinds of bodies being celebrated, like pregnant bodies. I thought it was just really, really cute and fabulous. So to be on the cover, I do feel like… wow.”
The Singer Launched Her New Swimwear Collection This Year
This year, Lizzo launched a new swimwear collection for Yitty, in partnership with Fabletics.
“You know how exhausting being fabulous is?” the singer asked PEOPLE earlier this year.
Lizzo has always been a beacon of self-love and acceptance. Creating a swimwear line designed with plus-sized women in mind just seemed like the next step.
“Swimwear was always the goal in the beginning because I truly believed that we could bring some of the shaping comfort and sexiness that our shapewear had to a swim [line],” the 38-year-old told the outlet. “I want people to find a product that makes them feel good. My goal with Yitty has always been to create something that changes a person’s day for the better and the way they feel about themselves when they walk past the mirror.”
As reflected in her lyrics, Lizzo loves her body and enjoys lifting up other women like her.
“I always like to honor my curves and my shape. The silhouette is so important to me. How are my curves? Am I flaunting them? Never want to hide them,” she added.
