Queen Latifah Is Gorgeous at the 2026 AMAs: See All Her Looks & Her Impressive Weight Loss in New Photos

Queen Latifah’s attendance at the American Music Awards on Monday, May 25, was a big deal. It marked the first time in over 30 years that the superstar has hosted the ceremony. The last time was in 1995. To mark the occasion, she went all out, and this is a closer look at her outfits.

To start off the night, the “End of the Road” actress walked the red carpet wearing a faux fur coat from Christian Siriano’s Fall 2026 runway. The thick, full-length ivory-colored coat was cinched at the waist with a belt, and underneath, Latifah wore a dress in a complementary shade. She accessorized with statement gold earrings and pulled her hair back into a neat high ponytail. She looked gorgeous as she posed for photos, and her fuchsia lipstick added a welcome pop of color to the overall look.

Also joining Latifah on the red carpet was her longtime partner, Eboni Nichols, and their 6-year-old son, Rebel

Other looks while she was onstage hosting at the AMAs included a beaded silver jacket, a stunning red belted jacket, and a sleek black outfit, which she wore over an eye-catching, cropped beaded bomber jacket.

The looks also highlight Latifah’s incredible weight loss. She has spoken passionately about weight loss and preventing obesity. “Having lost a cousin who was living with morbid obesity and watching what she had to go through and how she fought for her life, why would I not want to be a part of it?” she told People in an interview in May 2025. She hopes to raise awareness for obesity, which she referred to as a “disease,” and encourage others to make positive changes to their lifestyle.

Latifah was excited to host the awards again, and they were held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. In an interview with People, she reflected on her last award hosting gig with the prestigious event in 1995, saying, “That was big then, so I’m really like, ‘What is happening?'”

She continued, “I feel pretty good about it. I’m nervous. I’m excited. I know it’s going to be great just because of the people that are performing, and that this is a fan-favorite show. The fans get to pick who they want to see and who they should think should win. This is always something that really comes back to the people, and I’m going to make sure that the people feel good about what they’re seeing and hearing.”

Latifah is a tremendous talent, but she was also excited to see some of her old favorites returning to the stage. In her interview, she named The Pussycat Dolls and Busta Rhymes. “I think that’s going to tear the house down because I know Busta, and then The Pussycat Dolls, they get down, they sing, they dance, they light the stage up,” she said.
