Rapper and actress Queen Latifah has revealed who she’s most excited to see perform at the 2026 American Music Awards.
Latifah, 56, is hosting the ceremony this year, which will take place at the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. It will be the second time she has done so, having first co-hosted the AMAs in 1995, alongside Tom Jones and Lorrie Morgan, when they were held at the Shrine Auditorium, in Los Angeles, California.
The event will take place this evening, Monday, May 25, and performers will include Keith Urban, Billy Idol, New Kids on the Block, Teddy Swims, and Hootie & the Blowfish. Latifah has been speaking about which of the acts on show she’s most looking forward to seeing.
Queen Latifah Wants to See the Pussycat Dolls & Busta Rhymes ‘Tear the House Up’
GettyIn an exclusive chat with People, Queen Latifah explained that she’s most excited to see the Pussycat Dolls and Buster Rhymes perform at this year’s AMAs. Rather intriguingly, the girl group and the rapper will be performing together, having collaborated on “Don’t Cha” back in 2004.
Latifah said, “I ain’t going to lie, I want to see that Pussycat Dolls with Busta Rhymes.”
She continued, “I think that’s going to tear the house down because I know Busta, and then the Pussycat Dolls, they get down, they sing, they dance, they light the stage up.”
Speaking about the ceremony in general, Latifah said, “I know it’s going to be great just because of the people that are performing and that this is a fan-favorite show. The fans get to pick who they want to see and who they should think should win.”
The host went on, “This is always something that really comes back to the people, and I’m going to make sure that the people feel good about what they’re seeing and hearing.”
Fans Are Excited to See Latifah Hosting the AMAs
As excited as Queen Latifah might be to see the Pussycat Dolls and Busta Rhymes perform at the 2026 American Music Awards, her fans might be even more excited to see her hosting them.
In a recent video posted on her Instagram account, shared with her 8.2 million followers, Latifah spoke about the awards. She states in the video that she is also looking forward to seeing Teyana Taylor performing.
She captioned the video, “It’s almost time for me to host the 2026 @AMAs in Vegas 🏆 Tune in LIVE THIS MONDAY May 25 (Memorial Day) at 8pm ET / 5pm PT on @CBStv and @ParamountPlus! #AMAs.”
Her fans responded in droves, expressing how much they were looking forward to seeing her on hosting duties.

Another follower wrote, “Excited to see you QUEEN! 😍”
Someone else commented, “I’m excited to see you hosting the AMAs, as well as hearing new music from you soon! 🤗🤗🤗 👑#QueendomBusiness ⚜️.”

We’re looking forward to seeing Queen Latifah hosting the 2026 American Music Awards, too. Nominees include Taylor Swift (eight nominations), Morgan Wallen, Olivia Dean, Sabrina Carpenter, and Sombr (all with seven nominations), and Alex Warren and Lady Gaga (both with six nominations).
It should be a fantastic evening.
