Music Icon Announces Las Vegas Residency

Mary J Blige is considered one of the greats when it comes to R&B. Now, the singer and actress is headed to Las Vegas, where she’ll headline her very first residency. This comes after the “No More Drama” singer recently released a movie centered around her latest tour.

Blige took to Instagram on January 12 to announce the news. The “Umbrella Academy” actress said, “Vegas, are you ready? I am so excited to announce my first-ever Las Vegas residency, May 1 – 9 & July 10 – 18 at Dolby Live at Park MGM! Get your tickets (Friday at 10 AM PT/NOW) ❤️.”

The post included a clip of some of Blige’s most iconic performances. A voice-over features someone saying, “Mary J. Blige: My Life, My Story, The Las Vegas residency at Park MGM.” There’s also a poster for the residency included in the post.

Many fans of the legendary singer reacted to the news in the comments section. One person said, “Omg I’ve been saying MJB needs a Vegas Residency!!!!! You already know I’m there!!! Awesome birthday surprise!!”

Someone else wrote, “Finally a reason to go back to Vegas.”


Blige Recently Completed an Arena Tour

Blige has a decades-long career but still remains active in touring and new music. She released her latest album, “Gratitude,” in November 2024. Regarding her life on the road, she announced the “For My Fans Tour” in September of that same year on the daytime talk show “Sherri.”

In additon to announcing the tour, Blige also spoke about the reason for her album title. She said, “I mean, look at my life right now. I’m in a constant state of gratitude. I feel good. I have jobs and opportunities. I’m healthy. My family’s healthy. I have people around who care for me and love me, and I have amazing fans. I am so grateful to my fans for all the years of love they given to me, and support.”

According to the Kia Center, Blige later added additional dates due to high demand. The singer started the tour in January 2025 with a stop in Greensboro, North Carolina. It concluded in April in Philadelphia.

The concert film, “Mary J. Blige: For My Fans,” was released in November 2025 and has a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.


She Also Has a New Lifetime Movie Premering

Blige has appeared in several films and television shows. According to Deadline, she has signed a new three-picture deal with Lifetime. The first movie from the contract, “Mary J. Blige Presents Be Happy,” is set to premiere on February 7. While she’s not starring in the film, she is an executive producer, and it’s adapted from one of her song titles, “Be Happy.”

It stars Tisha Campbell, Mekhi Phifer, and Russell Hornsby. Actress Gabourey Sidibe directed the film. Previously, the network adapted other Blige songs into movies. They include “Real Love,” “Strength of a Woman,” and “Family Affair.”
