Considering the fact that Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco recently got married, it’s not surprising that much of the news around the pair revolves around their celebrity-filled wedding and relationship as newlyweds.
However, Blanco recently went viral for a surprising reason and Gomez in turn, showed her love for her husband in an unexpected way.
What Sparked the Buzz Around Benny Blanco’s Feet?
The relatively silly situation started when Blanco sat down to chat on his “Friends Keep Secrets” podcast which he co-hosts with Lil Dicky (who officiated the couple’s wedding) and Kristin Batalucco.
“When the debut episode premiered on Tuesday, Feb. 24, the producer and songwriter appeared lounging on pal Lil Dicky’s couch barefoot in an orange and yellow T-shirt and tan pants,” according to People. Granted, that not what viewers noticed. Instead, the public couldn’t get over the fact that Blanco’s “feet appeared to be covered in dirt and placed on the couch cushions where cameras captured them.”
People also noted that “[f]ans had a lot of opinions about Benny[‘s] … appearance.”
In response, Blanco “[got] out his toes on national television to prove a point,” according to Entertainment Tonight. Indeed, Gomez’s spouse “pulled up to ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ to clear his name.”
“First of all, it’s the facility’s fault! It’s not mine,” he said while refering to Lil Dicky’s home where they record their podcast.
Beyond that, Blanco showed off his admittedly clean tooties while appearing on television and added, “I have great feet!”
Selena Gomez Indulged in a Little Toe-Related PDA
What happened next? Well, Gomez decided to show her husband a love by indulging in a little PDA as she joined him during another session of his new podcast.
“Selena Gomez kissed Benny Blanco’s feet on the latest ‘Friends Keep Secrets’ podcast episode — one week after her husband’s dirty toes went viral,” according to Page Six. “The former Disney Channel star, 33, was seated on the living room floor during the interview as her partner, 37, sat on a couch with his foot propped up on a table.”
At one point, Gomez “leaned in mid-conversation to smooch Blanco’s second toe,” per Page Six.
Blanco reacted by looking at his co-hosts and asking, “You like that?”
However, Gomez didn’t give them a chance to answer and instead told her husband not to “make it a moment.”
Blanco responded by telling his wife, “Oh no, I wasn’t. I liked it. It made me feel good.” He added, “I love you so much.”
