Sheryl Crow Gets Emotional as She Sends Her Oldest Son to College (PHOTO)

“The Voice” alum and musical genius Sheryl Crow is exploring an emotional chapter of life. Her oldest son, Wyatt, is ready for his freshman year of college.

Raising her sons as a single mother presented some challenges, but she’s tremendously proud of the young men they grew up to be.

In a new social media update, Sheryl Crow gushed over her son, sharing an adorable throwback photo from his childhood.

Sheryl Crow Gives Her Son Wyatt a Sentimental Send-Off

Singer Sheryl Crow’s oldest son is headed off to college. She adopted Wyatt in 2007, and his younger brother, Levi, in 2010. Being a single mother to two sons isn’t always easy, but the family has created so much love and special memories together.

On social media, Crow shared a sweet throwback photo of her son as a little boy, grinning and goofing around. In the second photo, he’s taller than his mother and ready to take on the world.

“I can’t believe I just took this baby to college. 🥹🥹 Where does the time go?” the singer captioned the sentimental Instagram post. “For any parent who just went through this, I know how you are feeling! So proud of the young man he has become, and sure am missing him around here!”

This isn’t the first time the singer has penned an emotional tribute to her sons on social media. In June, she shared a photo montage of her boys riding bikes through the years.

Sheryl Crow limited the comments, but many of her close friends left kind words and wished Wyatt well on this next chapter of life.

“Sheryl! Where’s that pic of us on a plane holding your baby newborn, now college freshman???” Rita Wilson wrote in disbelief.

“Oh man I remember those days! You are the greatest mom ❤️” Brandi Carlile added.

“It goes so fast! ❤️❤️❤️” Martina McBride chimed in.

Both of the Singer’s Sons Have Musical Abilities

Music is an important part of Sheryl Crow’s life. Naturally, she wanted to share her passions with her boys. In a previous interview, she noted that her sons don’t necessarily want to follow in her footsteps. But at the same time, they both have natural musical abilities.

“I don’t know that either one of them really wants to [go into music], but they’re both musical, and I’m one of those obnoxious parents who’s like, ‘You have to take piano. Do not argue with me about it,'” the singer told PEOPLE in 2023.

At the time, she gushed over Wyatt’s musical ear and noted that he plays so beautifully.

“I think he will always tinker, but he wants to be a marine biologist, so I don’t know how to compete with that because it’s such an— I don’t even know what they do. So I’m happy for him to go save the reefs. That’s what he wants to do,” Crow added.

It’s not currently known if Wyatt will study marine biology at school, but nevertheless, fans wish him a terrific first year of studies.
