Millie Bobby Brown certainly knows how to create a buzz. That’s what she did yet again when she showed up to the world premiere of Season 5 of Netflix’s “Stranger Things” at the TCL Chinese theatre in Los Angeles on November 6. Along with the fact that she wore a stunning sheer dress, she also debuted a brand new hair color. Instead of the bright blonde that she’s been slaying, her hair is now a dramatic dark red.
The work of celebrity hairstylist Pete Burkill, Vogue notes that the color is “a deep wine tone (Maybe burgundy, maybe more Cabernet? or Merlot?).”
GettyFor the premiere, the star wore an classic updo. “The intention was to keep Millie’s hair feeling effortlessly undone — as though she could have swept it up herself,” Burkill tells Vogue. “There’s a natural ease to the shape, with a soft, face-framing texture that complements the gown’s clean neckline.”
Getty“Throughout this press tour, we’ve been leaning into a more lived-in, timeless aesthetic,” Burkill says, “something fresh, understated, and quietly confident — and this first premiere look really captures that spirit: elevated, but never overworked.”
Getty“The red is something we’ve wanted to explore for a while,” Burkill adds. As for the color mix that was used, Burkill says, “It gave us the perfect balance of richness, shine, and playfulness for the night.”
Millie Went Blonde On Her 21st Birthday
GettyBefore Millie went red, she opted to go blonde. Revealing the look on her 21st birthday, she took to Instagram to share a video of her celebrating the big day.
“In the video, which is set to Aly and AJ’s 2007 ‘Potential Break Up Song,’ a person off-camera placed a pair of sunglasses on Millie before the Stranger Things actress put a birthday candle in her mouth and another person lit the other end,” according to E! News. “Millie then placed the candle in the cake and lip-synced the lyrics ‘except for the fact it was my birthday, my stupid birthday’ before going to blow out the candle.”
While the celebration was surely sweet, fans surely couldn’t help but notice her blonde hair which she wore in fishtail braids.
A lovely hair transformation, it’s something that Millie is becoming famous for.
Millie Can Pull Off an ‘Effortlessly Chic Hair Transformation’
GettyIf you think that Millie successfully pulls off hair changes, you’re certainly not alone. In fact, it’s one of the reasons why she’s already considered to be iconic. Since shaving her head for her “Stranger Things” role to growing it super long and, of course, embracing her current red look, the star has made her mark when it comes to her stylish hair savviness.
According to British Vogue, “Whether going viral for rapping plot summaries, issuing a rallying cry for respectful reporting, or pulling off an effortlessly chic hair transformation, the star is something of a Gen-Z icon at 21.”
