The next chapter of the “A Quiet Place” franchise is officially moving forward, and several new stars are joining the story.
Paramount has confirmed that “A Quiet Place Part III” is in development, with John Krasinski returning to write and direct the upcoming film. The third installment will also introduce three new cast members, including “Sinners” star Jack O’Connell, Jason Clarke and Katy O’Brian.
The actors will appear alongside returning stars Emily Blunt, Cillian Murphy, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe, who are set to reprise their roles in the horror franchise.
Krasinski shared the casting news in a post on social media, writing, “So proud to be a part of this A Quiet Place family… old and new! Here we go!” according to Variety.
Production on the film is expected to begin this spring in New York, with Paramount planning a July 30, 2027 theatrical release.
Returning Cast Members Continue the Story

Several familiar characters from the previous films will return in the new installment. Emily Blunt will once again play Evelyn Abbott, while Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe return as her children Regan and Marcus.
Cillian Murphy is also set to return as Emmett, the survivor who was introduced in “A Quiet Place Part II.”
The upcoming film is expected to continue the story after the events of the second movie. In that film, Regan discovers that a specific audio frequency can weaken the creatures that hunt using sound, according to Entertainment Weekly. She later broadcasts the signal through a radio tower so other survivors can use it as a weapon.
While Krasinski starred in the original 2018 film as Lee Abbott, the character died in that movie. He later appeared briefly in a flashback in the sequel, and it is currently unclear whether he will appear on screen in the third film.
The Franchise Has Become a Major Horror Hit
The “A Quiet Place” franchise has become one of Paramount’s most successful horror series since the first film premiered in 2018.
The original movie followed a family trying to survive in a world where deadly creatures attack anything that makes noise. Directed by Krasinski and starring Blunt, the film earned more than $341 million worldwide, per The Hollywood Reporter.
Its sequel, “A Quiet Place Part II,” was delayed several times during the COVID-19 pandemic before finally opening in theaters in 2021, where it earned about $297 million globally.
The franchise later expanded with the 2024 prequel “A Quiet Place: Day One,” which starred Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn and explored the early days of the alien invasion.
Across its films, the franchise has earned about $900 million worldwide, per Variety.
With returning characters and several new cast members joining the story, “A Quiet Place Part III” is set to continue the world that began with the Abbott family’s fight to survive in silence.
