Ashton Kutcher gave a sweet shoutout to his ex-wife, Demi Moore, in a rare comment since their 2011 split.
Ashton Kutcher Gives Demi Moore Sweet Shoutout
While promoting his newest project, “The Beauty,” Kutcher reacted to comparisons to ex-wife Moore’s recent film, “The Substance.”
“I mean, one, Demi’s performance in ‘The Substance’, obviously she got extraordinary accolades,” Kutcher told Entertainment Tonight in an interview published on Thursday, January 15. “I’m so proud of her, she killed it.”
He added, “The bigger context, though, is that we’re in a society where cosmetic enhancement is becoming increasingly predominant and accepted…Over the last two decades, you just kind of watch the rise of that taking place. It used to be like braces were the only acceptable cosmetic enhancement, otherwise you’d be judged for it.”
According to Kutcher, “social acceptance” has grown, as people acknowledge the affect on other people’s happiness.
Both “The Beauty” and “The Substance” are body horror projects “about a substance that alters a person’s physical appearance for the better,” ScreenRant reported.
Moore cleaned house during the 2025 awards season for her role as Elisabeth Sparkle, taking home the Screen Actors Guild Award Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor, Best Actress at the Critics Choice Awards, and Best Actress at the Golden Globes.
“The Beauty”—which also stars Bella Hadid and Evan Peters—is set to be released January 21.
Inside Ashton Kutcher’s Marriage to Demi Moore
GettyKutcher and Moore were first romantically linked in 2003, after being spotted on a date in Miami, according to People.
Despite their 15-year age gap, their relationship moved quickly. They tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at their home in Beverly Hills in September 2005.
“I definitely can’t answer for him, but I think it certainly wasn’t a difficult transition,” Moore told V Magazine of life at home with Kutcher and her three daughters, whom she shares with ex-husband Bruce Willis, in January 2008. “Ashton’s relationship with his own mother is really wonderful, so it made the transition to being with a woman with daughters something he didn’t bat an eye at. It also says a lot about the confidence that he holds within himself as an individual.”
The pair announced their split with separate statements in November 2011.
Kutcher moved on with his “That ’70s Show” costar Mila Kunis, admitting in 2020 that there is no “badness” between him and the “Striptease” star.
“I make a really conscious effort to stay in touch with the girls. It was eight years,” he told Marc Maron on his “WTF Podcast” that February. “I loved them, and I’m never gonna stop loving them and respecting them and honoring them and rooting for them to be successful in whatever they’re pursuing.”
