A rising beauty queen’s life has been cut short in a tragic motorbike accident in Guatemala. Alondra Marianela Hernández Pérez, 20, lost control of her motorcycle on August 26 while riding to work.
The crash took place along the San Marcos-Quetzaltenango road, a notoriously dangerous stretch known for frequent accidents. As per a report in Metro, Witnesses rushed to her aid, and she was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but she sadly died the next day.

Alondra had been crowned Miss La Blanca in 2024, representing her community in the San Marcos Department with pride. Local officials honored her memory with a heartfelt tribute.
“The Departmental Queen of San Marcos mourns the passing of Alondra Marianela Hernández Pérez Miss La Blanca 2024,” the municipal government said in a statement.
“We send our condolences to her mother and siblings and to her community in La Blanca. Rest in peace.”

Alondra’s passing comes just months after another beauty queen’s untimely death shocked Latin America. In June, Mexican bodybuilding model Luz María Barrera Agatón was found dead in a hotel pool while on a family holiday in Motul, near Cancún.
Police continue to investigate both cases, with Alondra’s accident highlighting the dangers of Guatemala’s most notorious roads, while Luz María’s death raised questions about possible foul play.
