Beloved Social Media Influencer Passes Away at 23

Beloved Colombian social media influencer Carolina Reyes known online as “Carol the Warrior,” has passed away at the age of 23 after previously sharing health complications with her followers.

Her family confirmed the news in a statement posted to her Instagram account on March 12, one day after her passing on March 11. In the message, they remembered Reyes as someone who showed strength throughout her life.

“With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our warrior, Carol the Warrior,” the statement read, according to People. “She was a warrior, a brilliant person, and a human being who never gave up in the face of any difficulty.”

The family also asked for compassion during their time of grief and thanked supporters who had followed Reyes’ journey online. “We ask for your discretion, empathy, and love for her family and friends,” they wrote. “Thank you for loving her, supporting her, showing her so much affection, and always welcoming her with open arms.”

Reyes built a following of more than 200,000 people on social media, where she shared glimpses of her daily life, fitness routines and updates about her clothing boutique.

She Shared Her Health Journey Online

Reyes first opened up about her health struggles in October 2025 after experiencing unexplained body pain. At the time, she initially believed the discomfort was related to soreness from weightlifting workouts she frequently shared with her followers.

However, the pain gradually worsened, prompting her to seek medical attention. During a hospital visit, doctors discovered fluid in her lungs and drained several sacs during testing. According to Rolling Out, she was later diagnosed with cancer in November.

Rather than stepping away from social media, Reyes continued to share updates with her audience, documenting the emotional and physical challenges she faced during her health journey.

In a reflective Instagram post at the end of 2025, she described the year as one of the most difficult periods of her life.

“The year in which I cried the most, suffered the most, but also the year in which I learned the most has ended,” she wrote.

Reyes continued by sharing how the experience changed her perspective. “A year that broke me into pieces, but it also taught me to build myself from scratch,” she wrote. “This year showed me how strong I can be, even when I felt like I couldn’t anymore.”

Fans Remember Her Strength

Reyes’ final posts on social media showed moments from a trip to Rio de Janeiro. In her last Instagram post before her passing, she shared photos wearing a shirt that read “Brazil,” captioning the post, “everything is fine.”

After her family shared the news of her passing, thousands of followers flooded the comments with messages honoring her life and the strength she showed while documenting her health journey.

The overwhelming response reflected the connection Reyes had built with her audience through her candid and unfiltered posts.

Her family also shared that a wake would be held in her hometown of Cali, Colombia, where loved ones and supporters would gather to remember her life.

In their message announcing the news, Reyes’ family reflected on the impact she had on those around her, writing that she was “a warrior, a brilliant person, and a human being who never gave up in the face of any difficulty.”
