‘Good Luck Chuck’ Star Reveals 50-Lb. Weight Loss at 54: See Him Then & Now

Dane Cook is celebrating a personal milestone after revealing he has lost more than 50 pounds and reached a number on the scale he hasn’t seen in years.

The comedian, 54, shared an update on Instagram showing his noticeably leaner frame and describing the routine he credits with helping him reach 195 pounds, his lowest weight since 2009.

Dane, known for movies including “Good Luck Chuck,” “Employee of the Month,” and “My Best Friend’s Girl,” said the changes came from regular exercise, diet adjustments, and a recovery-focused routine.

How Did Dane Cook Lose 50 Pounds?

Dane said swimming has become a major part of his fitness plan, estimating that his daily sessions burn more than 500 calories. His routine also includes 30 minutes of Pilates, abdominal exercises, and a short kettlebell warm-up each morning. He said he sometimes plays racquetball and stays active with his two Rhodesian Ridgebacks.

Food has changed, too. Dane described his diet as “carnivore adjacent” and said he typically fasts until around noon, when he has a protein shake with collagen and protein.

He also listed NAD Plus, red light therapy, and peptides TB500, BPC, and GHK-CU among the measures he has incorporated into his routine, saying he uses the peptides primarily for recovery.

Dane made clear that reaching 195 pounds is not the end of the goal.

“Best shape of my life, but we are not done yet. Follow for updates or any changes I make that you might wanna try,” he wrote. In a follow-up post, the comedian shared another look at his progress and thanked followers for supporting him.

The update comes during a busy period for Dane, who is also revisiting one of the most painful chapters of his life in a new documentary.

What Is Dane Cook’s New Documentary About?

“Funny Money: The Dane Cook Story” examines how Dane discovered that his half-brother and former business manager, Darryl McCauley, had stolen millions from him.

According to People, Darryl, 61, managed Dane’s finances from the 1990s until 2008. Records later showed large withdrawals from the comedian’s accounts, including amounts of up to $100,000 at a time.

Dane recalls realizing that something was wrong before the extent of the missing money became clear.

“I do believe there’s money out there. I believe there’s people that know more,” Dane says in the trailer. “Where is he? What has he done? How does this end?”

What Happened to Dane Cook’s Brother?

Darryl, a former corrections officer, was arrested in 2008 and accused of stealing $12 million while managing his brother’s money, according to Rolling Stone. He pleaded guilty in 2010 to larceny, embezzlement, and forgery and received a five-to-six-year prison sentence.

He was also ordered to repay $12 million to Dane. Darryl’s wife, Erika, received a two-and-a-half-year sentence in connection with the crimes.

The documentary revisits that betrayal years later, while Dane’s latest personal update shows him focused on a very different chapter of his life: his health, fitness, and what comes next.
