Former Disney Channel Star, 68, Looks Quite Different as He Rocks Gray Hair in Rare Public Outing

John D’Aquino is best known for his roles in the Disney Channel series “Cory in the House,” which began in 2007 and ran for two seasons; Lieutenant Benjamin Krieg in “SeaQuest DSV”; and the 2001 sitcom “That’s My Bush!” But what does he look like now? D’Aquino was seen during a rare public outing in Los Angeles, California, on Tuesday, September 1.

John D’Aquino Makes Rare Public Appearance

In photos published by the Daily Mail, the actor, now 68, looks great as he embraces his graying hair. He wore a double-denim outfit: a button-down denim shirt and shorts. For extra comfort, he wore sneakers and a pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses. He also held food and drinks.

The Daily Mail reports that D’Aquino started his acting career in 1985 on the Western series “Wildside.” He discovered his talent for acting because his father’s declining health left him unable to work. “Fortunately, he lived, but he was out of work for a while,” he said in an appearance on “The Popcorn Podcast” for Slug magazine. D’Aquino revealed that his baby sister had just been born the day before, and the situation was stressful for his mother.

He remembered that his mother was sad all the time. “I would just watch her cry a lot and, I just thought, you know, I wanna I want to do something to put a smile on her face,” he said. “I want to do something. Sing a song or whatever.”

He continued, “And then after a while, I started looking into that television box and going: ‘They’re having an awfully good time in there. How do I get in there?’”

John D’Aquino Reveals His Acting Influences & Discusses New Role

D’Aquino’s most recent role is on Apple TV+’s series “Sugar” Season 2, as Senator Tyson Pavich. In an interview with “Slug” magazine, published on August 28, the actor spoke about joining the series, which stars Colin Farrell as private investigator John Sugar. “I had binged the first season,” he said. “I was sitting in a bed with Covid, so I binged it pretty quickly and loved it.”

The actor also praised Farrell’s acting, saying, “Everything is new to him and unfolding. And that’s the best type of acting, of course, right? It has to unfold in that moment as it’s being revealed.”  He continued, “You can never get ahead of yourself, or that’s called anticipation. With someone like Colin Farrell, they’re the producer of the show. They’re in on every story meeting. What is it that he doesn’t know about that script? He knows everything — yet, to give him even more credit, he forgets it at the moment.”

D’Aquino discussed the two legendary actors who inspired him, and told the publication he used to study Robert De Niro’s performances. “I looked at him and [Al] Pacino together. I love Pacino. Pacino is amazing,” D’Aquino said. “But I started to prefer De Niro.”

He continued to describe De Niro’s performances, saying, “Everything was being calibrated. And then I thought, ‘Okay, I’m going to study with him. What is he doing that none of the other actors are doing?’ He’s constantly interrogating them, every one of them.”
