Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is one of the most notable wrestlers-turned-actors in the entertainment industry today. Of course, he’s known for his muscular physique, the result of long hours spent in the gym. However, the “Black Adam” star recently stunned fans with a more petite physique. This is due to his role in the upcoming film, “The Smashing Machine.”
Johnson attended the Venice Film Festival and related events in Italy on August 30 ahead of the release of his new film. Specifically, the beloved actor posed for photos at the Miu Miu Women’s Tales event. He wore a pair of black pants, a blue button-up shirt, and a set of stylish sunglasses.

Johnson was also seen on September 1 during the Venice Film Festival. This time, he was at the photo call for “The Smashing Machine.” Notably, his co-star for the film, Emily Blunt, also appears in some of the images from the event.
Johnson looked dapper in a black polo-styled shirt, a pair of classy white pants, and again, a pair of designer sunglasses. As in the previous photo, he looked much slimmer than fans are accustomed to seeing him, due to his portrayal of an MMA fighter in the upcoming film.
Regarding the photos with Blunt, she wore a classy light blue dress with subtle jewelry. They posed side by side for the cameras, and both were all smiles at the event for their new movie.
Notably, this is one of Johnson’s first major public appearances since he attended the Golden Globes earlier this year.
‘The Smashing Machine’ Arrives in Movie Theaters this Year
Johnson’s “The Smashing Machine” will premiere at the Venice Film Festival on September 1. This will be the first time a relatively large audience will have the opportunity to see the film. According to Deadline, the A24 movie is set to debut in movie theaters on October 3.
In it, Johnson stars as MMA fighter Mark Kerr, who was active in the sport from 1997 until 2009. Benny Safdie, known for “Uncut Gems,” directed the upcoming film. The movie’s trailer premiered in April 2025 to much acclaim from fans.
