Elizabeth Smart is proving just how strong she truly is. Even 24 years after she was kidnapped from her home in Utah, she feels passionate about helping other survivors recover and tell their stories.
Now, the mother of three is exploring other avenues. In addition to her advocacy work, she’s pursuing fitness and bodybuilding.
Fans went wild for Smart’s latest video, praising and encouraging her to keep going.
Elizabeth Smart Tackles a Brand New Chapter of Life
Elizabeth Smart is making profound progress in her bodybuilding journey. Though primarily known for her advocacy, she wants to pursue a new passion too.
“Another show for the books! Had such a blast. I’ve always said ‘just stepping on stage is a win for me!’ And I completely stand by that,” the victim advocate shared with her Instagram followers. The mother of three beamed from ear to ear while displaying her toned physique for the camera.
Smart went on to explain that she competed in a group that requires participants to be 35 and older. The second competition was height-based. While Elizabeth Smart admitted to placing in the bottom of both categories, she gushed over the entire experience. She has innumerable supporters throughout her body building journey so far.
“I brought a better physique and stage presence than at my previous shows, and I’m so proud of myself for the hard work, discipline, and bravery it takes me to compete. So here’s to pursuing goals and not giving up!” she concluded the post.
In the comments, fans overwhelming praised Smart, encouraging her to keep going.
“Talk about a woman who’s come into her own power!🔥👏” one Instagram user wrote.
“I’m so happy for you!! Congrats on stepping on that stage and all the hard work and dedication it took to get this far!! You are a winner, and an inspiration to all of us!!” another cheerfully chimed in.
“That is hard work and dedication right there!” s third added.
The Bodybuilder Remains Focused on Advocacy
Though Elizabeth Smart has begun her bodybuilding journey, she’s still incredibly active in the victims’ advocacy space. This summer, she launched a new podcast, “The Survivor Files,” where she gives others a platform to speak on their experiences and share their unique voice and perspective.
“My hope is to honor the extraordinary strength, resilience, hope and courage of survivors,” Smart told iHeartMedia ahead of the launch. “Each of our stories are unique, but so many share a common thread: the strength to keep moving forward in the face of hell. I want this podcast to remind people that we are more than what we experience – and that we are so much stronger than we believed.”
Likewise, iHeartPodcasts seems delighted to give her and her guests the platform.
“Elizabeth’s voice has become synonymous with resilience, hope and survivor advocacy,” President of iHeartPodcasts Will Pearson added. “Through ‘The Survivor Files,’ she brings a deeply personal perspective to stories that deserve to be told with compassion. We’re excited to partner with Elizabeth and Marwar Junction Productions on a series that expands the true crime genre in such a personal and meaningful way.”
“The Survivor Files” is now available to stream.
