Emma Roberts and Cody John tied the knot on July 24, exchanging vows in front of friends and family at the groom’s family’s estate in Sun Valley, Idaho.
While photos from the wedding appeared in Vogue, the “American Horror Story” star is now sharing even more, taking to Instagram to reveal some intimate behind-the-scenes moments.
In the below carousel of photos, some of Roberts’ AHS co-stars are seen enjoying the day, there’s an intimate moment with her aunt Julia Roberts, as well as other beautiful shots from the celebration.
Marriage License
In several of the photos Roberts shared, the couple is looking into each other’s eyes while standing under an “Auditor and Recorder” sign while waiting to receive their marriage license.
The next pic features various PDA-packed shots of soon-to-be-spouses getting cozy in a photo booth.
That’s followed by a shot of Roberts wearing a sleek black dress during the reception, and another in which she brandishes a copy of rocker Patti Smith’s memoir.
Other photos include the bride and groom in their all-white attire and a plate of sushi that was served at the recaption
Roberts’ five-year-old son Rhodes was also featured in one of the pics, with the actress holding him in her arms after the ceremony.

GettySharing her feelings about the wedding with Vogue, Roberts said, “We didn’t read our vows ahead of time, and yet there was overlap, which I thought was really beautiful. It made the ceremony feel really unique to us … It just felt like time stopped, which for me is just the best feeling in the world.”
In one of the various photos that appeared in Vogue, Roberts is seen holding Rhodes’ hand while walks her down the aisle.
Rhodes is seen wearing a sharp white suit, perfectly coordinating with his mom’s stunning white bridal gown.
Where Was Eric Roberts?
GettyOne of the more notable aspects of the wedding was the absence of the bride’s father, actor Eric Roberts.
While most weddings feature the bride’s father walking her down the aisle to the altar, Roberts’ dad did not attend the wedding.
She has yet to commented about her father’s non-attendance at her wedding, but he has.
“I love my daughter, always have, always will,” he told Us Weekly when asked why he didn’t attend the nuptials.
“It is perfectly wonderful for her to celebrate however she wants, with whomever she wants,” he said, without explaining why he wasn’t there for his daughter’s big day.
A Strained Relationship
Roberts has been open about the difficulties he’s experienced in forging a relationship with his daughter after admitting he was a less-than-ideal father during her formative years.
During a 2024 appearance on the “Inside of You” podcast, Roberts was asked to recall the “toughest time” in his life, and offered a candid response.
“Probably the loss of a relationship with my daughter,” he said, as reported by Page Six.
He continued by insisting that there had been no “pain” in losing that relationship. However, he did admit that he holds himself responsible for that outcome, and had experienced “a sadness for the most likely misunderstandings we’ll all have forever because we’re human.”
