SEE INSIDE: ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Author E.L. James Lists Glass L.A. Mansion for $7.25 Million

“50 Shades of Grey” author E.L. James is selling her Los Angeles home and has popped the impressive mansion onto the market for $7.25 million.

While that might seem like a lot of money (and it is), it happens to be $1 million less than the original listing price. It’s also in the range of the $7.3 million she paid for the home back in 2016, amid the success of her bestselling book trilogy, as well as the first of the popular “50 Shades of Grey” films, which starred Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan.

Apparently, James — who owns multiple homes in the U.K. — feels like it’s time to pass the L.A. property onto a new owner.

The Home Is a ‘Modern Contemporary’ Retreat

If you’re wondering what kind of place a successful writer would call home, then you’ll surely be interested to find out that the residence that James has put up for sale is a “modern contemporary” retreat, according to the listing via Realtor.com.

Spanning 5,616 square feet, that includes five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms.

Boasting “explosive views overlooking all of Los Angeles from Downtown to the ocean and beyond,” the listing explains that “[l]uxury abounds from the moment you set foot on the grounds of the dwelling…”

While the exterior of the home boasts brick accents, it also “features enormous walls of glass,” according to Realtor.com. Thanks to that fact, when you enter the home, you “are greeted by an expansive floor plan that features floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing natural light to flood in.”

Along with a comfortable living area, the mansion includes a chef’s kitchen with “modern cabinetry” and “state-of-the-art appliances.”

Residents can also appreciate the stone and hardwood floors, as well as the high ceilings.

“Each bedroom is en suite and the primary suite offers a spacious luxurious private space & outdoor terrace patios,” the listing explains.

Beyond that, one of the many bedrooms “follows the same modern aesthetic with its floor-to-ceiling windows, which frame a sweeping view of the Hollywood Hills.” The bathroom features a double vanity and a sizable soaking tub.

“The Media/Lounge features surround sound, wet bar, fireplace and walk-in chilled Wine Room,” the listing points out, while “[t]he patio features a resort-style pool, lounging chairs, and a hot tub.”

That’s not to mention the gym, outdoor grill, five-car parking and elevator.
