Kenyan influencer Gracious Teiyan has died at 26 after suffering from severe migraines that led to a rare brain condition. According to local outlet Tuko, she was hospitalized on September 14 and died two days later from sinus thrombosis, a disorder where blood clots form in the brain.
Her fiancé, Paul Simat, confirmed the tragic news in an emotional TikTok tribute. “I prayed and pleaded with God to bring you back to me, but He chose to take you home instead,” he wrote.
“My heart aches, and I may never understand why — but I choose to trust Him. You will forever remain in my heart until we meet again.”

Teiyan built a loyal following of more than 332,000 on TikTok and hundreds of thousands more on Facebook, where she shared lifestyle content and personal moments. According to her profile, she grew up in Ngong, studied at Mount Kenya University, and later settled in Nairobi.
Her videos resonated with fans who connected with her humor, life updates, and relatable posts. After her death, many turned to her final uploads to share tributes, with one writing, “I can’t believe the nicest soul I ever knew is gone… heaven must have needed your goodness more than we did.”
Fiancé’s Emotional Tribute
Days after her death, Simat graduated from the University of Nairobi. He shared a TikTok video of himself opening his diploma, revealing the dedication he wrote in honor of Teiyan.
“I thought forever meant we would walk through life together, no matter what. I believed in us in a way I’ve never believed in anything else,” he wrote. “In just two days, we were meant to stand side by side and celebrate the success of my graduation… but now forever feels like an endless stretch without you in it.”
In another post, he thanked her for her “unwavering support, encouragement and belief” that gave him strength throughout his academic journey.
