Actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld has revealed the “profound” way she’s preparing to welcome her first baby with her NFL star husband Josh Allen. Allen is, of course, a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills.
The star has enjoyed a fabulous last 12 months, appearing in the critically acclaimed “Sinners” (which is nominated for a record 16 Academy Awards), the short film “Asteroid,” and two episodes of “Marvel Zombies” (per IMDb). She also embarked on production of the upcoming “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse” and performed the song “Dangerous” on the “Sinners” soundtrack, in addition to announcing her pregnancy.
Steinfeld, 29, spoke about the “introspective side” of expecting a child in the February 20 issue of her Beau Society newsletter.

GettyIn her newsletter, Hailee Steinfeld wrote, “This week, I was sitting on the couch in my family room, and the reality that our little family is about to grow really started to settle in.”
Steinfeld continued, “Of course, I have all the to-do lists (which you know I love), and I’ve been busy with research and the general life reorganization that happens when you’re about to have a baby.”
The star went on, “But the most profound and grounding part of getting ready for this baby has been the introspective side of it: the quiet conversations I’m having with myself almost every day. Sometimes I find myself asking big, lofty questions (what am I going to be like as a mom?) or having vivid daydreams of what our life is about to look like when the three of us are cuddled up in the nursery together.”
The Academy Award-nominated “True Grit” star also revealed the more hands-on side effects of her pregnancy, writing, “On a more practical note, the nesting phase is real, and I’m in the middle of it. Unsurprisingly, putting together a nursery has been a joy for me.”
She elaborated, “I’ve gone back and forth on tiny details more than I care to admit (why is choosing a rocking chair this emotional?), but seeing it all slowly come together has made our new life feel more tangible. Emphasis on ‘slowly’ coming together — it’s all still very much a work in progress.”
It was an extremely interesting and personal insight into Steinfeld’s pregnancy — and one that her fans would surely have appreciated a lot.
Steinfeld and Allen Announced They Were Expecting in December
Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen, also 29, announced they were expecting a child together in a joint Instagram post on December 12 last year.
The post comprised a video of the couple — who married on May 31, 2025, in California — looking very loved-up in the snow. At one point, Allen kissed Steinfeld’s baby bump.
A single heart emoji provided the video’s caption, while poignant music played over the top of it.
The comments were full of congratulatory messages, with Steinfeld’s fellow actress Bailee Madison — who appeared alongside her in the 2013 short film “The Magic Bracelet” — writing, “So so so happy for you both!!!! What a blessed little baby!! My favorite role you’ve ever had to date…. 💫💫🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍 ❤️❤️”
We’d like to wish Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen continued happiness and health as they prepare for the arrival of their little bundle of joy. It won’t be long until he or she arrives!
