While Josh Allen might be used to running planned out plays, the Buffalo Bills quarterback will be taking a different approach when it comes to he and his wife, Hailee Steinfeld, becoming first time parents.
Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld Are Going to ‘Figure Things Out on the Go’ When They Become Parents
During a press conference on Thursday, January 29, Allen, 29, said that he and Steinfeld will figure things out “to the best of their abilities” when they welcome their first baby later this year.
“But I’ve known this from well in advance. I’ve got siblings that have kids, I’ve got a lot of friends that have kids. I don’t know if you can plan too far in advance,” Allen explained. “So I’m very much looking forward to that with my wife, of becoming a dad. It’s something that I will take with great pride. And we’re going to have to figure things out on the go, just like anything else.”
He continued, “But this is the most important thing I’ll ever be in my life, being a dad. And I know I love being a football player, and I love being a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills. But I’m looking forward to this one.”
The “Sinners” actress, 29, and Allen announced they were expanding their family in a sweet video shared via Instagram on December 12, 2025. In the clip, the NFL pro could be seen kissing Steinfeld’s pregnant belly as she laughed before the camera panned out to show a tiny snowman. Steinfeld wore a sweater with the word “Mother” across the front, and it didn’t take long before several of her famous friends chimed in with their congratulations.

Gigi Hadid added, “Omg yaaaaaayyyy,” while Steinfeld’s “Pitch Perfect 2” costar Elizabeth Banks said, “Best news ever.”
Allen and Steinfeld Have Been Together Since 2023
Allen and Steinfeld were first linked in May 2023, but it wasn’t until over a year later that he made their romance Instagram official by sharing a carousel of photos of the two of them together in Paris. The “Hawkeye” star was later seen supporting Allen at some of his Buffalo Bills games. By November 2024, he had officially popped the question.
Allen posted a photo of himself down on one knee underneath a floral arch and surrounded by candles as Steinfeld leaned forward for a kiss.
“We were in Malibu, which is my happy place, and it was magical. That’s the word,” Steinfeld said of the surprise engagement while talking to Who What Wear in February 2025. “I’m so grateful that he did it the way he did so that I looked good, and we have these photos that we’ll have and cherish for the rest of our lives that I’m not looking at being like, ‘What was I wearing?’”
The couple later tied the knot in California on May 31, 2025.
