Actor Josh Duhamel and his wife Audra Mari are preparing to welcome another child.
Mari announced on Thursday, March 5 that the couple is expecting a baby girl, sharing the happy news with fans on social media.
Mari Had a Cute, But Simple Announcement
Alongside a series of black-and-white photos showing her growing baby bump, the model wrote a simple but heartfelt message: “Adding a little girl to our story… We can’t wait to meet you.”
The new arrival will mark the couple’s second child together.
Duhamel and Mari are already parents to their young son, Shepherd Lawrence Duhamel, who was born on Jan. 11, 2024.
The actor is also father to 12-year-old Axl Jack, whom he shares with ex-wife Fergie.
The baby news comes during a particularly busy period for Duhamel professionally.
The actor currently stars in the Netflix Western drama “Ransom Canyon,” a project that has helped introduce him to a new generation of viewers.
Despite his ongoing acting career, Duhamel has increasingly focused on creating a quieter family life away from Hollywood in recent years.
Duhamel Spent Years Building a Cabin
Duhamel had previously stated that while he loves working in film and television, he also felt a strong pull to reconnect with simpler, hands-on experiences.
That mindset led him to purchase land more than a decade ago about an hour and a half from Fargo, located near the border of North Dakota and Minnesota.
There, Duhamel spent years building a rustic cabin largely by hand, creating a retreat that reflects his appreciation for the outdoors and slower pace of life.
“Part of the reason I built my place out in Minnesota, deep in the woods, is it’s removed from everything,” he told Parade. “The closest store is 40 miles away. Once we get there, it’s really about everybody taking care of each other — making memories, spending time with family and friends.”
He added how it’s easy to get back to basics while there, as there are no distractions.
“When you’re out there, it’s really about having fun, making sure everybody’s warm, everybody’s got food and water,” he added.
For Duhamel, the decision to invest in that lifestyle was always about the future.
He has spoken about wanting his children to experience the kind of upbringing that includes nature, practical skills and time together as a family.
Duhamel previously grew up in North Dakota.
While the couple has not yet shared a due date, Mari’s announcement made it clear that both parents are excited about the next chapter.
