Actress and singer Lorna Luft has paid tribute to her sister, the iconic actress, singer, and dancer Liza Minnelli, on her 80th birthday.
Luft and Minnelli have the same mother — legendary “The Wizard of Oz” and “Meet Me in St. Louis” star Judy Garland — but different fathers. While Luft’s father was producer and businessman Sidney Luft, Minnelli’s was stage and screen director Vincente Minnelli.
While that officially makes them half-sisters, the famous pair refer to each other simply as “sisters.” They’ve been photographed together many times over the years and always look to be very close.
73-year-old Luft took to her Instagram account to share her tribute to Minnelli with her near-26,000 followers.

Luft captioned the post with a heartfelt text passage full of love and humor, as she joked that Minnelli was simply turning 40 for a second time, rather than turning 80.
