‘TODAY’ Co-host Shares Positive Health Update After Surgery

“TODAY” co-host Savannah Guthrie shared a positive health update after undergoing a vocal cord surgery.

Savannah Guthrie’s Health Update

Guthrie took to social media on Monday, January 5, to share a hopeful update following her planned vocal cord surgery.

“All good! Thanks for prayers and love!” the longtime host scribbled on a whiteboard and flashed to the camera with a smile.

“see you soon! 💛” she captioned the post, which she shared via Instagram.

Guthrie announced during the live broadcast on December 19, 2025, that she would be stepping away from her hosting job for a period of time as she focused on her health.

“Some of you have noticed that my voice has been very scratchy and started to crack a little bit,” Guthrie shared at the time. “Well, I have found out what it is. I have vocal nodules and I also have a polyp. It’s not a big, big deal, but I am going to have to have a surgery in the new year and be off for a couple of weeks, so this is my last day for a little while.”

During her recovery, Guthrie revealed she would have to remain “totally silent” for a couple weeks, joking that it would be an “early” Christmas gift for her family.

“This has been going on for years, honestly,” she added, joking that viewers might have thought she had “the world’s longest head cold.”

Co-host Sheinelle Jones shared encouraging words to her costar, revealing that she previously went through a similar procedure.

“The silver lining is you have permission to be still,” Jones shared. “The house gets quiet, the kids are gonna want to help you out.”

It’s unclear when exactly she underwent her vocal cord surgery, and so far, there is no word on her expected return date.
