Kenya Moore departed “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” midway through season 16. Since leaving the Bravo series, she’s kept fans updated about her life on social media, including recently when she revealed an update about her estranged mother. Plus, the former RHOA star reacted to the recently released season 17 trailer.
Kenya Moore Says Her Estranged Mother Has Met Her Daughter
“Real Housewives of Atlanta” fans know that Moore grew up without a relationship with her mother, as she and her aunt Lori spoke openly about their family saga on the show. However, Moore provided an update on both her YouTube channel and Instagram.
On YouTube, Moore stated that she had recently traveled to Detroit to celebrate her grandmother’s 95th birthday. She then stated that the celebration was overwhelming for her because it was the first time her daughter, Brooklyn, had met her grandmother, Moore’s mother.
Moore said, “So Brooklyn was able to meet her, and Brooklyn was happy to meet her. I had talked about her before in a positive light, and she had been sending Christmas gifts and birthday gifts to Brooklyn.”
She continued, “If anyone who knows me, the real me, they know I have a special place in my heart for anyone who is kind to my child. Although we have a history that is not necessarily pleasant, I feel like I have done everything that I need to do to be able to move on, which is forgive.”
Still, Moore admitted that she is hesitant but open regarding her daughter having a relationship with her mother.
Regarding the celebration, the former RHOA star shared photos on Instagram. She said in the caption, “95 years young! The matriarch of the family turns 95 years old! What a blessing that my daughter has the honor of knowing her great grandmother and meeting her grandmother (my mother) for the first time.”
She Says She Enjoyed The RHOA Season 17 Trailer
Moore took to her official YouTube channel on March 1 for a live session. During it, she took questions from fans, including one asking for her thoughts on the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” season 17 trailer.
In responding, she said, “I did see the trailer for season 17 of Housewives. I actually liked the trailer. It was good to see my girls. It was good- I laughed so hard when I saw Angela reading Pinky about her being Mr. Clean.
I can’t unsee that. I was like, ‘Angela reminds me of a baby me. This is crazy.’ It was funny. A funny read, light-hearted, and I thought that was interesting.” Moore went on to say that she likes it when the RHOA ladies “keep it cute.”
From there, she said that the girls “looked great” in the trailer and that season 17 of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” will be “interesting.” According to her, “It’s going to be different. It’s going to be up to the viewers to determine if they like it or not.”
After that, she also stated that viewers can never be sure what a season will deliver based only on a trailer. Still, the former RHOA star said she’d “find a way to tune in” amid her various trips and upcoming television projects.
