Filming for “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th” is underway. Now, former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kenya Moore is sharing her thoughts on the long-awaited return of NeNe Leakes.
Regarding Leakes, she was one of the original cast members of RHOA. She left the show in 2020, ceasing to work with Bravo or NBCUniversal until more recently, when she hosted a fashion special for E!.

Moore took to her official YouTube channel on January 24 to celebrate her birthday with her fans. During her live session, someone asked for her thoughts on Leakes being cast for “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th.”
She started, “So, you guys know that NeNe and I are in a really good place right now, but even when we are not in a good place, I still am a fan. I still think that she is one of the most iconic reality stars of all time, and I’m happy that the door is still open for her to return.
Now, you guys know that she isn’t- she wasn’t a part of the main cast, so there’s the main cast that they assembled that consisted of all OG,s and we all know that Atlanta for some reason did not have an OG, they used someone that is already on the cast, which we already know right now is Porsha.
Moore went on to say that this was “great for” Porsha. However, she then said what she wished had happened regarding casting for the new “Girls Trip” season.
Moore continued, “But when it comes to NeNe or an OG from Atlanta, I do feel that NeNe or Sheree should have been a part of that main cast.”

Leakes’ casting for “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th” is special in many ways. Bravo took to its official social media channels on January 24 to share photos from filming, including Leakes.
They said, “Posting this before it Leakes…NENE IS BACK IN THE BUILDING!!! #RHUGT.”
The photo features full-time cast members Porsha Williams, Teresa Giudice, Luan de Lesseps, Lisa Barlow, Kyle Richards, Vicki Gunvalson, and Gizelle Bryant. “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Phaedra Parks is also included. Leakes commented on the post, saying, “Yessssss Hunni.”
Leakes previously confirmed her casting for “Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th” on January 14 via an Instagram video. In it, she thanked Andy Cohen, as well as Williams and Parks, for helping facilitate her return to Bravo.
The series is expected to premiere in 2026. Notably, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” will also return in the coming months.
