Kyle Richards is opening up about her future on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” — and whether she’s finally ready to walk away.
The Bravo star, 56, spoke with People at Raising Brows Live hosted by Anastasia Soare and Oprah Winfrey on October 23, where she admitted she’s been thinking more seriously about her exit from the long-running reality series.
“The day obviously will come,” Richards said. “It’s been a long time. Fifteen years. I don’t know how long this can go on, how long I can go on for.”
Richards recently wrapped filming for season 15 and remains the show’s only original cast member. She first appeared on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” in 2010 alongside Taylor Armstrong, Camille Meyer, Adrienne Maloof, Kim Richards, and Lisa Vanderpump.

After more than a decade of filming, Richards said there were several points where she nearly left the series.
“I think season 2, season 5 — I can think of a number of seasons where I almost walked away,” she told People. “But fifteen years is a long time, and there’s things I want to do. It takes up a lot of time. And Portia’s going to college, so who knows.”
Richards shares her youngest daughter, 17-year-old Portia Umansky, with ex-husband Mauricio Umansky, as well as daughters Alexia Simone, 29, and Sophia Kylie, 25. She’s also mom to 36-year-old Farrah Brittany Aldjufrie from her first marriage to Guraish Aldjufrie.
While she hasn’t decided when she’ll leave the show, Richards said she’s aware that her time might be winding down. “It’s been incredible, but it’s also been challenging,” she said.
Kyle Richards Admits Filming Can Be ‘Very Difficult’
Season 14, which ended in April, focused heavily on Richards’ separation from Umansky. She told People that putting her private life on camera hasn’t always been easy.
“It’s very difficult for your life to be out there and have the world weighing in, analyzing things, and people not knowing the full details,” Richards said. “Judging you without being able to explain everything — it’s very difficult.”
She added that whether she returns depends on her emotional state each year. “It depends on what year and what season, whether I can handle it or not,” she said.
As Richards considers her future, the franchise is changing around her. Garcelle Beauvais exited after season 14, while designer Rachel Zoe joined for season 15.
“It’s very organic,” Zoe told People of filming. “When cameras roll, I don’t feel them, I don’t see them. The best way to do this is to just roll and be real. It’s been fun.”
