Actress and “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum Kim Richards was recently spotted sitting on a park bench in Santa Monica. Since then, many of her fans have expressed concerns for the “Escape to Witch Mountain” actress. Now, one of her former RHOBH co-stars, Brandi Glanville, is defending her. This comes after her sister, Kyle Richards, has provided brief updates over the years.
RHOBH alum Brandi Glanville Says Kim Richards is Doing Fine
GettyGlanville took to an August 2026 episode of her podcast, “Brandi Glanville Unfiltered with James Mass.” During it, she addressed the recent photo, beginning, “Kim Richards rare sighting.” After that, she stated, “I feel bad for her because she’s fine, guys.”
From there, Glanville acknowledged Richards’ struggles, but also noted that the photographers caught the former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” in an unflattering situation, which led many to assume the worst. She said, “You guys caught her on a bench. She has two shoes; one is on, one is off. Maybe her foot hurts.”
Glanville continued, saying, “As we get older, our feet hurt, and you’re walking around with your shoes in Santa Monica. She had boots on. Maybe she had a rock in her boot.” The former RHOBH star also pointed out that Richards was “fully dressed” and “looked nice” when her photo was taken.
She then said, “But everyone wants to assume the worst. All of her kids live here. Like she said, they all are great kids and they would never allow anything to happen to Kim. She went on, saying that the public needs to “stop projecting this nonsense on her.”
Toward the end of the clip, Glanville noted that Richards’ situation, regarding her being a former child actress and her battle with addiction, is hard enough without added pressure.
Kyle Richards Gave an Update on Kim on ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’
GettyKim’s sister, Kyle, has been open about the struggles they’ve faced over the years. Most recently, the former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star even faced an eviction, with Kyle vowing to support her as much as possible despite the recent challenges.
Per PEOPLE, Kyle discussed the relationship during a 2024 episode of RHOBH, in a conversation with costar Dorit Kemsley. Kemsley said, “The three of you guys. I feel like I haven’t seen the three of you guys together.” Kyle then said, “I know, it is nice when we’re all together. We’re just not that close; I don’t see her that much, unfortunately.”
For context, the episode was filmed around May 2024. This comes after an insider spoke to the outlet about the Richards family dynamic. They said, “It particularly weighs heavily on Kyle, who has always been the worrier of the family. She does her best to take care of Kim — and essentially bankrolls Kim’s life, with Kathy — but never knows where the line goes between helping and enabling.”
The insider also spoke about Kyle, stating, “She has the biggest heart. She loves her sister so much, and always will, but she doesn’t know what else to do.”
