“The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Shawn Trujillo, husband of Angie Katsanevas, addressed recent speculation after fans noticed he had followed several divorce coaches on Instagram, prompting questions about the status of the couple’s marriage.
In a statement to Reality Shrine, Trujillo clarified that the follows were related to supporting a friend who is going through “a rough time” and emphasized that they were not connected to his more than 25-year marriage to Katsanevas.

Getty“The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Shawn Trujillo is addressing recent speculation that he and Angie Katsanevas are heading for a divorce after fans noticed him following questionable accounts on Instagram.
In a statement to Reality Shrine, Trujillo shared, “After all the assumptions and continued speculation, much like the statement I’ve made on the previous issue, I am compelled to defend who I’ve followed on social media. This has nothing to do with Angie.”
He continued, “I simply have someone close to me going through a rough time. This person sends me pages with thoughts and info on what they are going through. It’s as simple as that. Nothing more nothing less. I understand we are in the public eye.”
“Moving forward, I will be more thoughtful on who the internet trolls see. I continue to be astonished by people without a true purpose. I take full responsibility for my naivety when it comes thinking the best people,” he ended his statement.
According to Reality Blurb, a Reddit user questioned whether the couple was heading for a divorce in a thread that has since been deleted after noticing Trujillo following divorce coaches on Instagram. The divorce coaches included David Mac, a divorce coach for men, and Nawal Houghton, a divorce coach and lawyer.
Additionally, fans noticed that Trujillo was also following an account “specializing in female narcissist recovery” as well as the account called Exposing the Mask, whose bio reads: “Healing from Narcissistic Abuse.”
The Couple Celebrated 26 Years of Marriage in June 2025
Katsanevas and Trujillo celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary in June 2025. In an Instagram post, the reality star shared a few throwback photos of the couple, including a photo from 1995, which saw the couple on a date to see “The Phantom of the Opera,” which Katsanevas explained in the comment section of her post. Other photos showed the couple on their wedding day in 1999, while a more recent picture of the pair was taken at the “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” studio.
To caption her post, Katsanevas detailed how she and Trujillo met at a hair salon.
“A Hair Affair🤍🤍🤍 #26YEARS Seems like yesterday I booked an appointment for a blowdry with this dreamy guy I saw on the cover of a romance novel in the grocery store checkout. Long hair like Fabio, big muscles, and known to be lethal with scissors. The rest is HAIRstory❤️.”
According to Bravo, in season 4 of RHOSLC, which was Katsanevas’ debut season as a full-time cast member, she shared similar details about how she first met Trujillo.
“I see this hot guy with huge muscles blow drying hair, and I thought, ‘I’ve got to get to know this guy.’ Good looking, muscles, and he could do my hair? It was love at first sight,” she shared, adding, “30 years later, here we are.”
Despite facing their share of rumors about their marriage on the show, the couple has always managed to come out strong.
