Teddi Mellencamp Shares Major Update on Stage 4 Cancer Battle

Teddi Mellencamp is sharing a significant update on her health while making clear that her cancer treatment is far from over.

The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum revealed that she is currently “cancer-free for right now” amid her Stage 4 cancer battle. But Mellencamp, 45, was careful not to get ahead of what her doctors have told her.

“I’m not allowed to say” that she is “in remission,” Mellencamp told “Extra” in a recent interview.

The update marks an important point in Mellencamp’s cancer battle, but she still has months of treatment ahead of her. And as she explained, getting good news does not mean the physical and emotional toll of treatment suddenly disappears.

Teddi Mellencamp Says She Has 10 More Months of Immunotherapy

Mellencamp confirmed she is continuing immunotherapy and expects to remain in treatment well into 2027.

“I have 10 more months of immunotherapy,” she said. “It seems to be working.”

Still, Mellencamp acknowledged that her health can feel dramatically different from one day to the next.

“You know, some days I feel great, and some days I feel very low. And I think that’s one thing I didn’t really realize,” she said.

Mellencamp also addressed a misconception she believes people can have about what happens once someone completes certain stages of cancer treatment.

“People think like once you get through radiation and then you’re on to either their chemotherapy or their immunotherapy, then, like, you’re healed,” she explained. “And you’re like, ‘No, I’m still in the midst of it.’”

Mellencamp’s latest comments come after a difficult stretch that she has documented publicly. She previously revealed her Stage 4 diagnosis and has continued updating followers about her health and treatment.

Teddi Mellencamp Reveals How Cancer Changed Her Life

The experience has also changed how Mellencamp approaches everyday life, including parenting her three children with estranged husband Edwin Arroyave.

“I think the biggest thing it’s taught me is like I’ve always, whether it has shown or not, been a perfectionist and wanted everything to be right all the time. And I can’t live that way anymore,” she said.

That has meant letting go of some of the rigid schedules she once kept for herself and her family.

Mellencamp has also found support in her relationship with boyfriend PJ Conley, whom she praised while discussing how she handles the more difficult days.

“PJ’s great. He’s really fun,” she said. “It’s like one of those things where I’m able to look forward to something to do after 4 p.m., which is difficult for me.”

Despite the ups and downs, Mellencamp said she is focusing on what comes next.

“Things are going pretty well. I don’t have any complaints,” she said. “On the days that are hard, I remember that the next day is going to get a little better.”

She ended with a message she has repeatedly emphasized since her own health battle began: “And this is just a reminder to everybody: go get your skin checked.”
