The internet recently jumped to conclusions about a rumored romance between TV and movie mogul Tyler Perry and former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Marlo Hampton.
The speculation began earlier this month on March 15, when the two attended an Atlanta brunch to honor music executive Catherine Brewton. Following the event, photos erupted online showing the two TV stars looking extra cozy — including a questionable image of the pair sharing a kiss.
Nonetheless, the dating whispers have officially been debunked thanks to “The Breakfast Club” producer Loren LoRosa.

According to LoRosa, the brunch was hosted by media personality Jason Lee with notable industry names in attendance. Perry was invited as a guest and, according to theGrio, had never met Hampton prior to the event.
LoRosa took to social media to further debunk the dating narrative, explaining that the viral image of the alleged kiss was A.I.-generated. She even connected with the event’s photographer to confirm what actually went down that afternoon, and photos did not include any smooching between the two.
However, what did happen was far less scandalous. Perry and Hampton only shared a first meeting, a few photos together, and some friendly banter.

Dating rumors didn’t come out of thin air. In video clips circulating online, Perry and Hampton can be seen seated next to each other and laughing, with the reality star even wrapping her arm around Perry’s like she’s known him longer than a brunch hour.
LoRosa also noted that, per the photographer, Perry wasn’t there to be the center of attention. Instead, the “Madea” creator was simply showing up for a friend and keeping things low-key — unaware he’d soon be at the center of a viral dating spectacle.

As for their personal lives, both parties have kept things relatively private. Perry, 56, shares son Aman with his former partner Gelila Bekele. As for Hampton, she once revealed that she dated a billionaire for five years during an appearance on “The Wendy Williams Show.”
While the idea of these two as a couple might have made the internet intrigued, the reality is that Tyler Perry and Marlo Hampton were just enjoying a brunch for their mutual friend. That’s it.
