Kelly Osbourne is opening up about the tragic passing of her dear friend, celebrity makeup artist Jasen Kaplan. Osbourne paid tribute to Kaplan with a heartfelt post on her Instagram Stories, sharing a collection of photos of them in happier times and her thoughts in the text over the pictures.

In the text, Osbourne expressed her heartache. “I’m devastated. I love you so much @JasenKaplan,” she wrote on January 1. “Thank you for all the love, laughter and joy you brought [to] my life. I hope you are at peace now. Life will never be the same without you! RIP my dear friend.”
In another Instagram Story, Osbourne celebrated Kaplan again and promised to care for his beloved pet. “@JasenKaplan I promise to make sure Coco is always looked after,” she wrote in a photo of him with his dog, Us Weekly reports. “I will forever miss our late night FaceTimes!”
She continued, sharing memories. “No one was as funny as you!” she wrote. “You were the best wing man a girl could ask for. 25 years of friendship and every second was worth it.”
Remembering Jasen Kaplan
Kaplan died on New Year’s Eve, December 31, Page Six reports. He was in a hospital in New York City at the time. “He was a great artist, and a sweet guy,” a friend said, Page Six reports. “When people started working with him, they often stayed with him for years.”
Kaplan had a successful career working with big stars. Page Six reports that he was especially close with Osbourne, “Real Housewives” stars Bethenny Frankel and Tinsley Mortimer, and model Lydia Hearst.
Kaplan posted multiple photos of Frankel on Instagram, including one of them posing on September 24, 2024. ”Words can not express my gratitude for this trip! @bethennyfrankel you inspire me every day and I’m so grateful to be on ‘the B team!’” he wrote in the caption. ” … This was a trip of a lifetime…. Bethenny you are more than a supermodel, actress and accidental influencer & business mogul! You’re an inspiration to us all!”
Kaplan did Mortimer’s makeup on her wedding day. He shared a photo on Instagram on November 27, 2023, showing Mortimer looking stunning in her wedding dress. The celebrity makeup artist referred to her as “one of my best friends.” He also wrote about how he was “so blessed to be part of her special day.”
