Marlena Honors John As A New Mystery Emerges

Friday’s episode begins with Brady and Tate spending some time together at home, where Tate teaches his father a few self-defense moves. Sarah briefly stops by with some treats before heading to work, leaving Brady and Tate to continue catching up.

The conversation shifts when Marlena arrives carrying the chess set that Stefano left behind. On the one-year anniversary of John’s death, Marlena admits that she no longer wants the chess set in her home, but also can’t bring herself to throw it away. Instead, she gives it to Brady.

As they discuss plans for a family dinner to honor John’s memory, Marlena also encourages Brady to be honest with Rachel and continue supporting her through everything that has happened. Afterward, Marlena heads to the cemetery to visit John’s grave.

Later, Belle joins Brady, and the siblings decide to examine the chess set more closely. As they begin setting up the pieces, they realize something is missing. One of the pawns is gone, leaving both of them stunned by the unexpected discovery, as their father was often referred to as “The Pawn” throughout his complicated past.

Meanwhile, Marlena spends a quiet moment at John’s gravesite. As she reflects on the year since his death and promises that she will always love him, she notices a penny lying nearby. Marlena tearfully smiles, believing it is a sign from John reminding her that he will always be with her.

Amy Refuses To Let Sophia’s Death Go Unanswered

Elsewhere, Amy meets with Belle and makes it clear that she wants Holly charged in connection with Sophia’s death.

Belle explains that investigators have thoroughly reviewed the situation and discovered that the original online post that sparked the bullying campaign was actually created by Sophia herself. She also points out that many students participated in the online comments, making it difficult to place sole responsibility on Holly.

Belle continues laying out additional evidence uncovered during the investigation, including proof that Sophia had been drugging Holly. She warns Amy that pursuing charges would likely bring all of Sophia’s actions into the public spotlight.

However, Amy remains unmoved by the information. Instead, she accuses Belle of allowing her personal connections to influence her judgment, arguing that Holly’s relationship with Tate and Rachel’s involvement create a conflict of interest. Despite Belle’s warnings, Amy refuses to back down and remains determined to seek justice for Sophia.

Holly Turns To Sarah For Help

At the hospital, Holly reaches out to Sarah as she continues struggling with everything that has happened.

Holly admits that she feels overwhelmed by the constant accusations from Amy while also dealing with guilt over Sophia’s death. Although she knows she was one of Sophia’s victims, Holly confesses that part of her still blames herself for the tragedy.

Sarah listens as Holly opens up about her anxiety and emotional exhaustion. Believing Holly could benefit from additional support, Sarah suggests that she meet with one of the hospital’s psychiatrists.

Holly is initially hesitant when Sarah mentions the possibility of medication, but Sarah reassures her that any treatment plan would be carefully tailored to her needs. After some encouragement, Holly agrees to accept a referral.

Later, Holly meets up with Tate in the town square and tells him about her decision to seek help.

Eli Returns Home As Julie Receives A Surprise Invitation

At the bookstore, Julie and Lani are thrilled when Eli arrives home a day earlier than expected.

After sharing an emotional reunion, Eli and Lani spend some time together in the square. During their conversation, Lani opens up about Chanel’s breast cancer diagnosis and admits how frightened she is about what lies ahead. Eli offers comfort and support, assuring his wife that they will get through the difficult situation together.

Back at the bookstore, Foster stops by to see Julie on his day off. What begins as a casual conversation soon turns more personal as the two discuss grief, loss, and moving forward after losing their spouses.

Eventually, Foster works up the courage to ask Julie out to dinner. Much to his relief, Julie happily accepts the invitation.

As Salem residents dealt with grief, guilt, and difficult decisions, Friday’s episode ended with a new mystery. Amy remained determined to pursue charges against Holly despite Belle’s warnings, Holly took an important step toward getting help, and Eli returned home to support Lani during a difficult time.

Meanwhile, Marlena found comfort while honoring John’s memory on the anniversary of his death. However, the biggest question heading into next week may be what Brady and Belle’s discovery means after realizing a pawn is missing from John’s chess set.
