Ryan Gosling Heading to ‘Days of Our Lives’ Set After Invite From Soap Legend

“La La Land” and “Barbie” star Ryan Gosling just accepted an invitation to the set of “Days of Our Lives” from legendary soap star Deidre Hall. Gosling recently credited Hall as his “OG acting inspiration.”

As a result, Hall reached out to formally invite Gosling to the “DOOL” set. Now the A-lister is set for a trip to Salem to see his acting inspiration in action. Hall began portraying Dr. Marlena Evans in 1976. Read on to discover more about the exchange.


Ryan Gosling Calls Deidre Hall His Acting Inspiration

“The Notebook” star Ryan Gosling recently appeared on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast with Josh Horowitz.

During the interview, the 45-year-old actor praised soap opera legend Deidre Hall. Gosling revealed to the host that he grew up watching soap operas, noting that “Days of Our Lives was an incredible acting class” for him.

He went on to share, “I remember thinking, God, Deidre Hall’s a great actress, because she’s having to act possessed right now!”

Gosling noted, “That just seems like a lot to ask of her!”


Deidre Hall Invites Ryan Gosling to the ‘Days of Our Lives’ Set

After hearing about the podcast, Hall reached out to Horowitz and Gosling via video. The legendary soap star confessed that the podcast had reached both the makeup and dressing rooms on the set of “DOOL.”

Hall shared that she was “thrilled to be acknowledged and so well-spoken of” on the podcast. The soap star took things one step further by sending Gosling an open invitation to visit the “Days of Our Lives” set.

The soap legend signed off her message by assuring Gosling that no one would be possessed when he visited, and jokingly added that if anyone was, she’d keep an eye on them.


Ryan Gosling Accepts Deidre Hall’s ‘Days of Our Lives’ Invitation

After receiving Hall’s invitation, Ryan Gosling shared a video response of his own.

In a video shared to social media by his wife Eva Mendes, the Hollywood star enthusiastically accepted the invitation, saying, “Deidre Hall, are you kidding me?!? A very enthusiastic yes to a very cordial invitation to visit you on set.”  

The three-time Oscar nominee went on to reveal, “I will be there to thank you in person for being my OG acting inspiration. It wasn’t Marlon Brando in “On the Waterfront.” It was you!”

While no official plans are in motion yet, it seems Gosling wouldn’t mind making a trip to Salem soon.
