‘General Hospital’ Star Shares Update After Heartbreaking Loss

“General Hospital” star Daniel Goddard shared an update to his fans following the tragic loss of his beloved father.

The actor, who portrays Henry Dalton on the long-running soap, took to Instagram to reveal that he’s flying to his home country, Australia, for his late father’s funeral.

“I fly back to Australia tonight for my dad’s funeral,” Goddard captioned the video. “Thank you for your condolences and compassion since the news of his passing. I’m so grateful for your love and support. You have no idea how much it means to me.”

Last week, Goddard shared on Instagram that his father had passed away, though he did not reveal details of the cause.

In the short video, Goddard expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who offered love and support during this difficult time.

“I just want to say thank you so much for all the condolences and the well-wishes and the love and just the messages I received,” the “General Hospital” star added. “Just in all the comments about the passing of my dad. So it means so much to me. It truly does.”

Goddard also shared his pride and joy at being able to travel freely to and from the U.S. as an American citizen.

“I fly to Australia tonight for the funeral. One of my most proud moments ever was becoming an American citizen, and this one here ranks up very high with it,” Goddard said, holding up his passport. “My very first American passport. It means more to me than you can imagine. I love this country, and I’m honored to be part of this country, and thank you. Thank you, America.”


Goddard Expresses Love for ‘General Hospital’ Co-Star

In the same post, Goddard asked his followers how they feel about his character on “General Hospital,” teasing what’s aheaf for Dalton.

“On a separate note, I hope you’re enjoying Dalton on ‘General Hospital.’ It’s getting messy,” Goddard teased. “And what’s up with Laura slapping me? What’s up with that?”

Goddard also joked about his co-star, Genie Francis, who used to play his mom on “Y&R.”

“I mean, my mom on ‘The Young and the Restless,’ now is my nemesis on ‘General Hospital’ and I got slapped,” Goddard added. “But you know what? I love you Genie Francis. More than you’ll ever know. And to work with you is such an honor and privilege.”
