“The Young and the Restless” star Peter Bergman recently warned viewers to brace themselves for some shocking plot twists for his character Jack.
A recent dramatic episode left audiences gasping at the reveal of a potential partner swap waiting to happen, reports Soaps.com.
What Led To The ‘Young and the Restless’ Shocking Plot Twist?
Jack had been a victim of a recent kidnapping by Victor (Eric Braeden), and held hostage on a yacht in Lake Michigan.
Victor had recently drugged the alcohol supply with ecstasy, which led to a devastating betrayal by Jack.
Diane (Susan Walters) was left reeling after finding Jack in bed with Patty (Stacy Haiduk), EntertainmentNow reported.
Jack tried to convince Diane that he couldn’t be blamed for his actions.
“Whatever she spiked it with made me totally euphoric. There were no boundaries, no limits,” he pleaded.
However, Diane didn’t believe him.
“You could have stopped if you wanted to, but you didn’t want to!” she yelled, before fleeing their mansion.
Meanwhile, Victor and Nikki had a similar explosive argument. Victor told Nikki he would be rebuilding his empire – with or without her by his side.
He also questioned her devotion to her ex-husband Jack, saying “You’ve threatened several times to leave me for Jack Abbott. Now’s your chance!”
“You care more about the welfare of that excuse of a man than your own husband!” he shouted.
Heartbroken, Nikki left their home for the comfort of the Genoa City Athletic Club.

With both Nikki and Diane checked out of their relationships and into the Athletic Club, it lays the groundwork for a potential partner swap – and shocking plot twist.
Although Victor was responsible for putting the ecstasy in Jack’s drink, it seems Diane believes the blame for sleeping with Patty lies solely with Jack.
GettySoaps.com speculates Diane and Victor’s history could lead them to lean on each other in the wake of Jack’s betrayal. After all, the pair have already been married twice before.
Likewise, Jack could also seek support from his old flame Nikki. Would she betray Victor by falling into the arms of his biggest rival?
