Soap fans excited for new episodes of “Beyond the Gates,” “The Young and the Restless,” and “The Bold and the Beautiful” will be waiting a while. The CBS soaps had a short week, and new episodes won’t return for a few days.
It’s that time of year again when CBS preempts all regularly scheduled programming for March Madness. The annual NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament is replacing “Beyond the Gates”, “The Young and the Restless”, and “The Bold and the Beautiful” on Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20.
All three shows will return with new episodes on Monday, March 23. Despite the March Madness tournament airing on CBS over the next couple of weeks, this is the only time soaps should be preempted.
In the meantime, all three soaps left fans without a lot to think about over the long weekend.
What to Expect When ‘The Young and the Restless’ Returns
The aftermath of Diane (Susan Walters) leaving Jack (Peter Bergman) and Victor (Eric Braeden) kicking Nikki (Melody Thomas) out will be front and center when “The Young and the Restless” is back. It was quite a shock that both splits happened, but it’s been very entertaining.
Adam (Mark Grossman) and Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) Las Vegas trip to get the goods on Matt (Roger Howarth) takes a turn as Adam faces someone from his past. There’s also Matt still threatening Noah (Lucas Adams) and Sienna (Tamara Braun).
Fans will also see more of the AI business drama, as Billy (Jason Thompson), Cane (Billy Flynn), Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), and Victor fight to get what they want. Those are just a few things happening as the CBS soap returns with new episodes.
What to Expect When ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Returns
“The Bold and the Beautiful” is all about two things right now. One is the Logan war between Katie (Heather Tom) and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang).
It’s Brooke and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) versus Katie and Bill (Don Diamont), with every Forrester and Logan being forced to pick a side. Things heat up with this feud as more twists and turns are thrown in the mix now that Katie and Bill used Eric’s (John McCook) designs to launch Logan Fashion House.
The other major story is Ivy (Ashleigh Brewer) pushing Electra (Laneya Grace) and RJ (Brayan Nicoletti) together. Ivy continues to keep Will (Crew Morrow) and Electra apart purposely. Now, though, not only does Daphne (Murielle Hilaire) know what Ivy is doing, but Miss Dylan (Sydney Bullock) does too, which means Ivy must now deal with both women.
What to Expect When ‘Beyond the Gates’ Returns
The drama keeps heating up in Fairmont Crest. Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) feels pressure to choose between Kial (Greg Vaughan) and Carlton (Robert Christopher Riley), while Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) and Joey (Loin Lindstrom) take their relationship to the next level.
Smitty (Mike C. Manning) and Jacob’s (Jibre Hordges) joint undercover mission to bust the plasma ring at the hospital takes a dangerous turn as Naiomi (Arielle Prepetit) can’t shake a bad feeling about her husband.
The Dupree family faces another major crisis when Anita (Tamara Tunie) lands in the hospital and makes a bold decision about her cancer treatment that sends Vernon (Clifton Davis), Nicole, and Dani (Karla Mosley) reeling. “Beyond the Gates” fans can also expect Leslie to cause more chaos at the worst possible time.
