“Survivor” fans are now just mere hours away from witnessing the historic three-hour premiere of “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans” as CBS prepares to debut the longrunning reality competition series’ milestone 50th season tonight – Wednesday, February 25 – at 8:00pm ET.
The road to the golden anniversary installment has been 26 years in the making, with the months preceding its release being marked by nationwide promotional campaigns like the “Road to 50” event, which saw CBS re-air 10 classic episodes of “Survivor” highlighting the 24 players returning to compete on the landmark season, and the “Survivor 50 Challenge,” which tasked fans coast-to-coast with unearthing real-life Immunity Idols hidden in each and every one of the 50 states in hopes of winning tickets to the live “Survivor 50” finale in Los Angeles later this spring.
Preparations came to a head last night (Tuesday, Feb. 24) as the cast gathered in New York City to attend the “Survivor 50” Premiere Screening and red carpet at Hall des Lumieres.
While one of the cornerstones of “Survivor” is that players enter the game with just the clothes on their backs, oftentimes resulting in filthy and tattered garments by the end of the season, the record-breaking cast of all-star castaways took the opportunity to spruce themselves up for the kick-off event.
