Billie Eilish to Play ‘Game-Changing’ Role in ‘Survivor 50’ Premiere

The premiere of “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans” is just weeks away and fans can’t stop talking about everything the golden anniversary season has to offer.

From the return of the series’ largest-ever all-star cast – including franchise legends like Cirie Fields, Colby Donaldson and Ozzy Lusth, as well as former champions Dee Valladares, Kyle Fraser and Savannah Louie – to the controversial inclusion of celebrity cameos from stars like late-night host Jimmy Fallon, country singer Zac Brown and YouTube phenomenon MrBeast

Similarly joining in on the star-studded season is “Bad Guy” singer and “Survivor” superfan Billie Eilish.

Fresh off winning her tenth Grammy Award, Eilish, who has similarly penned and performed chart-topping hits for blockbuster films like “The Barbie Movie” and “No Time to Die,” will reportedly play a major role in the upcoming premiere episode of “Survivor 50.”

Jeff Probst Reveals ‘Billie Eilish Boomerang Idol’ Will Appear in ‘Survivor 50’ Premiere

The news comes from longtime “Survivor” host Jeff Probst, who revealed the information during the 2026 SCADTV Festival on February 4.

“It was really fun to communicate with [Billie] about how she could be involved,” Probst told audiences at the event. “And she wanted to be involved with an idol.”

The first reference to the so-called “Billie Eilish Boomerang Idol” came during the very first teaser trailer for “Survivor 50,” which dropped immediately following the finale of Season 49 in December 2025 and focused, primarily, on highlighting the upcoming installment’s various celebrity cameos

While Probst refused to explain the mechanics behind the Idol, he did reveal that it will come into play during the season’s historic three-hour premiere episode.

“It’s found in the first episode,” he revealed, adding that the as-yet unnamed player who unearths the potentially game-changing advantage was shocked to see it was accompanied by a message from the singer herself. “It’s really fun to watch ‘Survivor’ players, whoever finds it, open the note and go, ‘Hey, it’s me, Billie. Billie Eilish.’”

“Nobody knew,” Probst added, explaining that none of the returning players were let in on the fact that celebrity superfans would be making their mark on the “In the Hands of the Fans” season. “We told nobody on our crew. Very few people knew who was out on the island. That MrBeast and Jimmy Fallon and Zac Brown and Billie Eilish,” would play a role in altering the course of “Survivor” history.

While it remains unclear as to which player will discover the “Billie Eilish Boomerang Idol” in the premiere, all signs point to “Survivor: Edge of Extinction” fan favorite Rick Devens, who was the sole player to reference the new advantage in the season’s first trailer.

It remains possible, of course, that one of Devens’ tribemates discovers the Idol instead, letting him in on the information to build trust in the early days of the game.

To discover exactly how the Billie Eilish Boomerang Idol works, and to see how it impacts the course of the milestone season, be sure to catch the hotly-anticipated premiere of “Survivor 50: In the Hands on the Fans,” coming to CBS on Wednesday, February 25 at 8:00pm ET.

  1. After listening to Billie Eilish spout off on the Grammys, I think Survivor is making a big mistake using her to up the shows rating. I think the show’s rating are going to drop because your Boomerang Idol is going to backfire. I’ve watch 49 episodes of Survivor, but I will not be watching #50.
