Congratulations are in order for Sir David Beckham. The global soccer icon, 50, was officially knighted by King Charles on Tuesday, November 4, at Windsor Castle for his โservices to sport and charity.โ The royal investiture celebrated individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to British society.
The former Manchester United and England starโs long-awaited honor marks a defining moment in his career, officially making him Sir David Beckham. His wife, Victoria Beckham, will now be recognized as Lady Beckham.
A Family Affair at Windsor Castle
The Beckhams arrived at Windsor Castle surrounded by family pride and elegance.
Beckham looked sharp in a tailored morning suit as he attended the ceremony with Victoria and his parents, Ted Beckham and Sandra West.
Victoria turned heads in a sleek black dress of her own design, pairing it with a polished updo for the formal event. The proud wife watched with emotion as her husband received the prestigious honor from King Charles himself.
Two Decades of Dedication Rewarded
GettyThe knighthood is a moment more than twenty years in the making. Beckham was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2003 and was first nominated for a knighthood in 2011, according to The Guardian. See more photos:

GettyWhen news of the honor broke earlier this year, Victoria celebrated with a heartfelt social media post. โYouโve always been my knight in shining armour, but now itโs official. Sir David Beckham!! What an honour, I couldnโt be prouder of you,โ she wrote.
Continuing His Legacy of Charity & Service
GettyBeyond his football achievements, Beckham has remained committed to philanthropy and youth empowerment. A longtime UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, he has championed childrenโs welfare worldwide.
In 2024, Beckham joined The Kingโs Foundation as an ambassador to encourage young people to pursue careers in horticulture. โIโm excited to be working with The Kingโs Foundation and to have the opportunity to help raise awareness of the charityโs work,โ he said.
โIโve always been keen to help young people to expand their horizons and Iโm particularly looking forward to supporting the Foundationโs education programs and its efforts to ensure young people have greater access to nature,โ Beckham added.
Outside the pitch, Beckham became known for his sharp fashion sense and effortless charm.
In 1998, GQ named him โMost Stylish Man of the Year,โ and he went on to model for top brands including H&M, Armani, and Boss.
He married Victoria in 1999, and the couple has four children โ Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper โ who are often spotlighted as one of Britainโs most influential and stylish families.
Even after stepping away from football, Beckham continues to make an impact through philanthropy, fashion, and mentorship.
His knighthood stands as a tribute not just to his sporting legacy but to the global influence he continues to carry.
