Many reality shows see contestants having to lie and deceive their fellow cast members to ultimately succeed. But “The Traitors” is a series that is built around the idea of treachery and murder. So those who have experience with that sort of thing in real life might well have an advantage.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the cast of the upcoming fourth season of “The Traitors” have had their say on the most treacherous things they have done outside of the series.
Cast of ‘The Traitors’ Season 4 Reveal Just How Treacherous They Are
Previous “Survivor” cast member Natalie Anderson cited some sneaky gameplay from her time on the series. She said, “The most traitorous thing I’ve ever done is find an immunity idol with somebody and then use it on them to vote them off before the final three and blindside them. And it felt so good.”
Caroline Stanbury said, “I had to fire my own father. He worked for me for a few years and I had to let him go myself.”
Former “Big Brother” star Ian Terry explained that he did something specifically on the reality series. “I screwed over my coach on the first season I was on, and that was pretty traitorous, I would say,” he said before adding. “That one still hurts a little bit.”
“Dancing With the Stars” alumni Mark Ballas said, “Me and my friend, Derek, stole my mom’s car, and my nan had no idea. We would take it to the park every other day, and we would smoke cigarettes in it.”
Donna Kelce was more coy about her acts of treachery and would not provide any specific details. “That I can mention,” she said. “Oh, dear, I don’t even know if I can talk about it. But at times you trick people just because it’s fun to do.”
Similarly, Eric Nam also likes to play pranks, “When I’m on the tour bus, we play a lot of pranks on each other.”
Monét X Change recalls a time she had to steal from a fellow performer “I was at a gig in Cincinnati, Ohio, on one of the tours, and I had left my wig glue at the previous city,” she remembered. “So I went over to a girl’s station – sorry, Trinity – and I stole her wig glue, and she was looking for it, and she was looking for it, and I needed it.”
For Ron Funches, he revealed a time before he was working as a comedian and went out of his way to help customers. “I worked at a bank call center, and I was always using it as an opportunity to give money back to people,” he explained. “Their accounts were overdrawn, and if they had like $60 overdrawn I’d go back and find $200 worth of things and then give that back to them and then I’d not show up for work for a couple of days and see if people would forget.”
Some of ‘The Traitors’ Cast Have Steered Away From Traitorous Behavior
Not all of the people taking part in season 4 of “The Traitors” wanted to share details about some of the more nefarious things they have done. Some, like Candiace Dillard Bassett, wouldn’t reveal anything, telling the outlet “a traitor never tells her secrets.”
Meanwhile, others claimed to have avoided betraying or lying to people. Citing her religious upbringing, Dorinda Medley claims she doesn’t do anything treacherous. However, she still thinks she has the skills to help her in “The Traitors.” She said, “But I will always call out someone who is wrong or dishonest. I can’t stand a faker. I’m very good at calling out a faker or people who are dishonest — I can see it a mile away. I’m very innate like that.”
Johnny Weir also made it clear he tries to avoid traitorous behaviour saying, “I try not to go through life building up too many lies or a stack of situations where I’ve created enemies because life’s too short.”
Tara Lipinski said, “I don’t know if I’ve done anything traitorous. This is a hard question. I mean, I’m not perfect, but being traitorous is not my vibe.”
According to Rob Cesternino, the worst thing he has done outside of “Survivor” is “not rewind video tapes when I put them back at Blockbuster.”
